Not Sure How I Feel About New Business Model...

That's nuts.

She really made her jump though hoops, silly little girl didn't even have the sense to use the code that she made her search for - that's what pi$$ed her off, I would have been too.

:roflmfao:

Yes, I think that they are implementing a few new policies all of a sudden and its taking away the customer service that is supposedly the differentiator of the FP stores to begin with.

If I had an outlet anywhere near me that carried anything even half way decent, I would try to find what I like at outlet prices. PCE was my compromise. I didn't mind not getting the outlet price, but I had my limit and would never pay full price when Coach doesn't hold their prices firm and devalues their bags almost immediately.:smile1:

The FP stores are certainly getting more strict with pce. I was not able to use this last pce on a phoebe, even though my FP store has sold me ALL of my other phoebes with pce. My SA quit and my back up SA said that they were writing people up for giving the discount.

But there still is a pce or discount every week, and they are still sending relatively new FP styles to the outlet though, including Phoebe, so although they are implementing some of the policies, it is not clear to me that they are being successful in upgrading their brand.

Well, I wonder what they think about all these Gals getting their PHOEBES for 50% off at the outlet instead of the 25% off at the Boutique?
I, myself, am not a Phoebe fan but there are several Ladies who have gotten them at Outlet.
They are showing up more and more each day....

Yep. All the Spring colors are there now. The first gen blacks are also showing up there.

Coach is crazy sometimes with their policies. Being inconsistent about pricing is not going to make people start seeing their brand as a premium brand, especially if the quality is not upgraded.

Just my opinion....

I'm starting to feel better and better about my indefinite ban that I'm starting... There's no outlet anywhere near me, and I haven't been able to afford $1000 bags in YEARS!

I've always wondered what the story was behind my former SA leaving the company last fall. All she would say was that she "didn't like the direction the company was going." Maybe she knew what was up...

My favorite SA just quit last week and no one can tell me what happened. She is no longer at Coach. She was an assistant manager. I don't like anyone else at my closest FP store, so I am not going to be the same type of Coach customer I was when my favorite SA worked with me.

Coach bags are not worth $1,000 in my opinion. If I am going to go back to paying that for my bags, I will buy a couple of Gucci and Balenciagas a year or maybe try other premier designers, and only buy Coach on ebay at rock bottom prices.

Wow do people really buy bags and just hold them and then return them?

I am naive I guess :p. Whatever Coach does, I agree with you, I certainly think the liberal return policy will be a thing of the past.

Yes, they do. It bugs the crap out of me. They often (not always) take bags out of the system that Coach COULD sell at full or PCE price.

Its in our best interest for Coach to be financially healthy. My belief is - if you love a bag enough to take a certain amount of $$ out of your wallet to pay for it at that time, it's a contract between you and the seller. If you tried to pull that ish on an ebay seller, do you think they'd go for it? Of course not. (I'm not talking about a 14 day Price Adjustment, I have no problem with that, it's a common practice with most businesses.)

Its a very small percentage of people who do this, and I do know of situations where people have been banned for doing it excessively. I personally think 30 days is long enough for you to make up your mind if you want a bag or not, after that, hard cheese.

I totally agree with the above. :smile1:

It will take more than a stricter return policy and stricter enforcement of pricing to make Coach a premium brand in my opinion.

It will be interesting to see them try to upgrade themselves though. :D:cool:

I already have three $2000+ bags in my closet, all Bottega Veneta. The quality is impeccable. I also have a couple LV bags, also both of outstanding quality.

My Coach bags are definitely very nice, but are squarely in the mid-range level of quality. To be worth more, I would need to see production in the US or EU (it does make a difference), suede linings, lambskin or calfskin, gold-plated hardware, stuff like that.

I think "premier designer quality" is a crock created by marketing genius but to each her own. Sure, some bags have better leather etc but imo, none of them are worth the price tag to me.

I love bottega veneta bags. :smile1: The quality is amazing on them. I have always wanted one.

I love my Balenciagas. I have been collecting those since 2006 and they are still my favorite brand. I love the leather and I still use all of them and add a couple each year to my collection.

Coach to me is a mid priced brand that is stylish and a good value in it's price point. I would never compare my Coach bags to my premier designer bags. Each has a place in my collection and I enjoy my bags at both price points.

But...That being said Coach is not going to be able to go from selling 300 dollar bags marked down 65% at the outlet (so basically $100 dollar bags) to selling $1,500 bags that are never marked down. Coach is simply not perceived as being worth that money.
