I find it interesting that you all are saying that ladies in the other forums are snotty because you believe they turn their noses up at Coach. Well what are you doing in this thread? You're dissing other brands and saying the people that are a part of this family we call the purse forum are "snotty".

Sometimes people don't know how to answer a question you ask. That's why they don't respond to something you may ask. But everyone is willing to help you and be your friend in any forum. I have felt ignored sometimes, but I realize now that sometimes people aren't going to be able to answer something for you.

I own a lot of different brands and I spend a lot of time in all of the forums, so I hope that you all give the other members in the other subforums the time of day. This is a universal forum and I'm really tired of people feeling like they aren't welcomed anywhere. I suggest if someone really hurts your feelings, you PM them. It's probably more of a miscommunication more than anything.

there are certainly more than a few "snotty" people in tpf, i won't argue that point. there are always going to be people who are better off than you are and like to flaunt that (or they're they're totally bs'ing you...) but there are also more genuinely nice and caring people out there- IF you give them a chance. and the latter far outweighs anybody who can be an a-hole.

it's just like anywhere else- if you don't spend time there, you tend to feel like an outsider. does that mean everyone there is mean? of course not. it means you haven't gotten to know them.

i don't go into other forums much. i don't usually go into a forum unless i am interested in a bag or i own it. so, at this point in my life, i only own coach. BUT, i can tell you that the girls in gd or elsewhere are incredible.

there are amazing people here- please don't let a few bad experiences ruin what is going on here. if you start to diss other brands, you are no better than the people you are complaining about.

I think this may have been a reference to all the "Does anyone still like Coach" threads, and there have been several threads before where someone asks a question about Coach only to have people respond with "Oh, I HATE Coach" or "I think it's too babyish."

I think people in this thread are just commenting on the friendliness of the Coach forum and how glad we are to have it. Otherwise every time a Coach topic turned up in the General handbag forum there were plenty of those "Coach is not high end" comments.

Also, while this is a universal forum there ARE people who will make you feel unwelcome and it's not just a miscommunication. I'm glad your experience with tPF has been positive, but you shouldn't discount other member's experiences. This is no different from any other public arena where there are tons of rude/mean people and there is no explanation for it other than the fact that is just the way that person is or chooses to communicate. That shouldn't deter you from visiting a particular subforum, but just lead you to realize that this particular member is being spiteful, not the whole subforum in general.

Anyone who puts down something that someone else loves has insecurity issues, plain and simple. There are plenty of people who buy higher-end pieces and I think that's great, but that doesn't mean that being rude to others is OK.

And it happens all the time on tPF. Yes, I do believe that some people really don't know how rude and insensitive they are, but overall I think that they like to make themselves feel better than by putting others down.

No particular sub-forum is guilty of this, though. I've found the people to be VERY nice on LV and other sub-forums. It is only a few individuals who are guilty, not entire groups or sub-forums.

Like it is said quite often here, money doesn't buy class.

I am non-discriminating when it comes to bags. But overall I've come to appreciate non-logo pieces in quality leather (when I first happened upon purses I was all about the logos!). Coach often fulfills that desire, and when they have irresistable pieces, I am as likely to buy them as I am any other designer.

Sorry, I disagree. I've seen first hand, before this forum was created, where there was a clear disdain for Coach in the general populace. If you create a thread about anything, you'll have naysayers, but even the tone in the responses were clear put downs.

In general, I haven't found that here. First, the topic pretty much stays with this brand. I haven't seen any other brands being dissed here. If differing opinions are expressed, it's done in a respectful, not catty way. This is why my post count jumped from 0 to 100 in a few weeks.
