I dont have a lot of sympathy for Nordstrom. Just this weekend, I purchased some Chanel sunglasses there and returned them within the hour because I found them in another color at Neiman’s, which is literally next door to the Nordstrom I initially purchased from. Nordstrom had the nerve to give me a hard time, saying the glasses were scratched. I thanked them for pointing out that they sold me a damaged pair of $500.00 sunglasses. Mind you, the glasses hadnt been removed from the packaging that the salesperson placed them in. They said they would take them back “this time.” I told them they werent doing me any favors by doing the return and to save the speech for someone it actually applies to. To make it even worse, when i was making the purchase I asked the salesperson for a new pair that hadnt been tried on. She spent 10 min cleaning the fresh pair and carefully wrapping them. When i returned them, the salesperson who helped me was gone. I honestly believe they gave me a hard time on the return because of the price point. But they may have lost a long time customer after this trash experience.

I am officially done with Nordstrom. I spent 5 hours at King of Prussia Mall on the day after Christmas and I refused to even go in Nordstrom. They have done too many sketchy things to me in the past that are too many to list. Here are the top 4 Nordstrom blunders:

2015
I purchased a pair of Hunter wellie socks that were on sale on Nordstrom site. I received socks in a torn hunter box just balled up inside. Socks were clearly used, smelled like feet and covered in cat hair. I called to complain and was told to send them back or take them into a Nordstrom store to return. I told the woman on the phone that I wouldn't date take them to a store as it would be embarrassing. I mailed them back.

2016
Ordered a bottle of perfume and after 5 days they cancel my order due to lack of inventory. How in the world does Nordstrom consistently manage to confirm orders in quantities that do not match their actual inventory?

2017
I ordered a pair of black patent Gucci shoes on sale from Nordstrom online. I received a pair of brown Gucci slides that were at least 5 seasons old (Nordstrom did not even carry Gucci then) in the old style brown box with all of the stickers removed. They were at least new. I called immediately to complain and the person on the phone was apologetic. Again, I did not return these to the store because it would be embarrassing and they might think I was the one who switched them. On this occasion, I sent a letter to Nordstrom Corporate along with receipts and pictures of everything. They could not even bother to respond. In the letter I stated that it was most certainly Nordstrom's prerogative to accept a switch/theft from a customer. It was however unacceptable to pass the misfortune on to another unsuspecting customer. I am sure they did not like that.

2018
I purchased a pair of Balenciaga boots at full price $1,490 in a size 7. I decided that if/when they stretched, they would become too big. So, I ordered them again in a size 6 1/2 and the order said they would ship from a store. I got a bit worried...and with good reason. What did I receive? A box that said size 36.5 and boots inside that were size 36. Another customer switch or a careless shoe dept employee error? I tried them on just for the hell of it. As I suspected, they were much too tight. I called customer service to complain. Again the person apologized for the inconvenience. She went so far as to tell me that she knew Nordstrom cared about customers. I quickly told her they did not. I returned both pairs of boots to the store the next day. When I told the person at the store what happened, she just shook her head in disbelief.

***It is important to note that Nordstrom did not give me a problem with any of the above returns. How very nice of them..lol

Just bought a designer bag from Nordstrom last Friday, and the salesperson attached a tag to the bag (plastic band that can't be removed without breaking it) and noted that if I wanted to return the bag, I had 45 days and the tag would still have to be attached. When I got home, there was also a card inside the bag that said the same thing. This is new to me for Nordstrom. I understand, was just kind of surprised by it.

I think that is excellent, stops people borrowing items from stores and then returning and somebody else gets the item that is not new

Regular Nordstrom or the Rack? I didn’t know Nordstrom had a time limit on returns.

does anyone know the banned is going forever in your life ? or warning certain time frame Like retail equation report for 1 year? and no one in household also can order from Nordstrom store and online???
I don't know about Nordstrom but with other stores, it's a lifetime ban.

The only work-around is to go to their B&M locations and pay cash. And only buy what you won't be returning.

I purchased a gift for someone and this purchase generated a note. The person ended up returning the item (had a gift receipt), making my Nordy Club account negative.

I really don’t need the note ATM. I contact Nordstrom & they said they can’t unissue notes. Just wanted to know if anyone else had a similar situation or attempted to escalate it.

Not sure about the note but you generate points with purchases. Not sure if you purchased this gift during a promotion of maybe double or triple points then if there is a return back with this item those points get deducted from your balance. So it is possible to be in the negative because once the note was generated your point balance could have been zero. Bloomingdales changed their loyalist reward program a couple of years ago and it might be worst than what Nordstrom is doing.

I applied a triple point day to the purchase, smh! [emoji22] Next time I won’t use my card for gift purchases.

They can un-issue a note if you make enough noise. I purchased a Chanel Deauville with a triple point day. I kept telling my SA I thought it was too sparkly from the pictures. She told me to buy it, if I didn’t like it she would send UPS back to my house to return it. Long story short, she didn’t return my calls, I was at the end of my billing cycle and it turned into notes all within about a week. Finally got a hold of the manager who told me the SA quit. I had to drive the bag back and complained enough to CS that they reversed the notes.

I think regular Nordstrom is still pretty lenient in general on returns if you have a proof of purchase, but seems stricter with designer items (probably due to the price point). I have noticed complaints about them being picky with designer shoe returns as well, so doesn't surprise me with the designer purse thing now.

Just received a pair of So Kates, full price, from Nordstrom. They came in a beat up, unlabeled, Louboutin box. The shipping box was perfect, so it was not postal damages. The paper inside the box was balled up, no shapers or plastic sticks, no travel bag, no heel tips or bag, no envelope from Louboutin, and only one shoe had the clear plastic sole sticker. The red soles looked okay, but they seemed stretched because they slipped on very easily for new patents. I have several pairs of SKs and know how they should fit at first. I think they sent a floor model whose box and included material was pilfered. I called Nordstrom immediately and explained. They said I could return with all original undamaged box, packing materials and accessories. I tried make them understand that I never received the original stuff. They said it must accompany the shoes or a return will be declined. I again explained the problem and was told I’d be contacted today. They never called, text, or emailed me. Now what? If I pay full price, I expect the whole experience. What does anyone else think?
