Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus?

Nordstrom definitely. I buy designer mostly for handbags but for clothes I buy more "low-mid end?" I guess you could say. I feel like Nordstrom has a way better selection of affordable clothes. For clothes I shop in Halogen, Paige, Topshop, and BP. In shoes I like the BP shoes like Steve Madden and Dolce Vita, which they don't have at other department stores(besides Macy's). They also have more frequent sale items in store and online and you don't have to be a "member" for their sales. Plus the SA's are always helpful and friendly, and not overly pushy.

I've been in Neiman Marcus and Saks only a handful of times before and I just didn't care for the atmosphere. At Saks nobody approached me( I was looking for a handbag) and they all seemed to be judging me by my clothes and bag. I felt intimidated. For me it just seemed more high end and snobby. Plus all the items are normally full price and there is really no mid range clothing, it's all designer. I guess I just didn't see any brands that I normally wear or like. Maybe I'm just cheap but in this point in my life I can't afford $300 for a leather jacket or $100 for a blouse.

I would love to check out Bloomingdales because online I see a lot of good deals and promo codes, but there is none in my state.

In order of convenience and CS .
Thankfully the Nordstrom near me has higher end items and luxury boutiques within the store, so I don't really need
To bother w the other dept stores that are fussier w CS.
My Nordstrom is very convenient in every way for me.

I do think if you're ever around a Bloomie's you should definitely check them out. I always find great deals in store even better than what is offered online. Customer service can be hit or miss though at times. Nordstrom still wins that category for me hands down.

Nordstrom hands down. Then Neimans and Saks come in together as a second. Perhaps it's my experiences, but there have never been nicer and more accommodating sales people than in Nordstrom. Plus, I prefer their selection of clothing more. If I want high end, I'll go straight to a boutique.

Nordstrom goes above and beyond in customer service.... they also started out as a shoe store first many years ago, so they always have great shoes whether it's regular brands or luxury ones.. they are like a more high class macys/bloomingdales

The first time I ever went there to try on shoes, THEY TOOK OFF MY SHOES AND PUT ON THE ONES I WAS TRYING ON. I couldn't believe it! They were awesome!

From my personal experience, Nordstrom's customer service is far far above the other
stores (NM,BG, & SFA)

As far as selection of specific items that I'm interested in, BG works for me then comes
NM

SFA does have an "outstanding points program"...

Neiman Marcus all the way! I also love ordering stuff from Barneys. Nordstrom is excellent in certain departments (shoes & intimates), but I get a much better shopping experience at Neiman Marcus. Nothing beats the high of walking out of the mall with a giant Neiman Marcus shopping bag! It also helps that I have a wonderful SA at Neiman Marcus that will go above and beyond to make me happy!

I use to Love Nordstrom but I'm starting to desire NM more and more now. A lot of things I've recently purchased from Nordstrom just has not been up to par when it comes to quality. I'm at the point where I refuse to buy anything at full price now because I feel like everything is over priced for the quality. One of my friends was sent expired skin care and that made me really nervous, so now I be sure to check expiration dates on all my beauty items. Nordstrom also use to be the first to offer lower prices, now other stores are beating them to the punch especially NM. I've had to get Nordstrom to price match a few items that NM already offered at a sale price. Of course they did price match but I also noticed the "price matched" banner with on-line merchandise.

I remember when Nordstrom use to be the "price to match" and not other retailers. I'll still shop there since I have a card but even the card holder benefits are not what they use to be. So I'd rather use my other cards that offer cash back instead of getting Nordstrom notes. Also the customer service is now hit or miss because these new SAs especially the young ones are very snotty and seem jealous that I'm young and can shop there. Nordstrom does have a good return policy however some stores are starting to refuse some returns when that's never happened before.

Nordstrom is my favorite, but NM does have a bigger selection of the higher end brands; I find that Nordstrom doesn't have as much and also tends to be more conservative with what they do get. There's no Saks where I live so I'm just stuck with online for them. Same with Bloomingdale's, but their online experience is so awful that I refuse to shop with them anymore. When I lived in NY, I would go to the store and really enjoyed it, but I have just had so many bad experiences shopping Bloomie's online that I won't even look anymore.
