Nordstrom definitely. I buy designer mostly for handbags but for clothes I buy more "low-mid end?" I guess you could say. I feel like Nordstrom has a way better selection of affordable clothes. For clothes I shop in Halogen, Paige, Topshop, and BP. In shoes I like the BP shoes like Steve Madden and Dolce Vita, which they don't have at other department stores(besides Macy's). They also have more frequent sale items in store and online and you don't have to be a "member" for their sales. Plus the SA's are always helpful and friendly, and not overly pushy.
I've been in Neiman Marcus and Saks only a handful of times before and I just didn't care for the atmosphere. At Saks nobody approached me( I was looking for a handbag) and they all seemed to be judging me by my clothes and bag. I felt intimidated. For me it just seemed more high end and snobby. Plus all the items are normally full price and there is really no mid range clothing, it's all designer. I guess I just didn't see any brands that I normally wear or like. Maybe I'm just cheap but in this point in my life I can't afford $300 for a leather jacket or $100 for a blouse.
I would love to check out Bloomingdales because online I see a lot of good deals and promo codes, but there is none in my state.
Nordstrom hands down. Then Neimans and Saks come in together as a second. Perhaps it's my experiences, but there have never been nicer and more accommodating sales people than in Nordstrom. Plus, I prefer their selection of clothing more. If I want high end, I'll go straight to a boutique.
Nordstrom goes above and beyond in customer service.... they also started out as a shoe store first many years ago, so they always have great shoes whether it's regular brands or luxury ones.. they are like a more high class macys/bloomingdales
Nordstrom first. Saks/Bloomies 2nd. Then BG and then Neiman
There is a Neimans out on Long Island thats going to be open next spring. Cant wait.
