I really want to keep myself in check this year. I bought two items last year that I haven't worn. One is a Julia Jordan Sweater dress. Every time I went to wear it, I decided something else looked better. The second is a whole Veronica Beard suit. It is super cute, and I still love it. Problem is that I hesitated half a day in buying the pants, and they sold out in my size. I kept ordering pop-backs, and they kept getting cancelled. I ended up with one size too big. They should work with alterations, but I didn't manage to take them in over the last year.

So..... I'm curious if you have bought something that ended up being a mistake. What was it? Is there any back story? Was the item to blame, or did you fail in the follow-thru like me????
Not necessarily a mistake since I do use it daily, but I purchased a Simple Human mirror maybe 7 years ago? It's great but honestly, I have never bothered to download the app and am not entirely sure how to even use the settings to change the lighting to mimic outdoor/indoor/underground/whatever to apply makeup, so I probably could have just purchased a normal cheapo magnifying mirror. I barely even bother with makeup these days!

You know what? I'm going to work on my winged liner technique and try to figure out that app to REALLY get max usage out of this mirror. [Insert 80s makeover montage featuring application of some harsh blush, but that harsh blush looks FABULOUS]

Hah I did this same thing! I use the mirror all the time but I do not use any of the special features it has, just the basic default light. In fact I forgot it even had these capabilities until I read your comment!

Hello everyone! So happy to see you again! A couple years ago, I bought a pair of very oversized olive green pants. Sat in my closet with tags for about a year. Kept trying them on and they were just a NO, what was I thinking? Actually returned them to Nordstrom and I think I still had the receipt. Anyway, have lots of favorite things from this sale over the years! Looking for comfortable boots this year to wear on a trip. Everyone, good luck with the preview tomorrow!

On another note though I have some items which I wear ALL THE TIME that I got from the anni sale! Like a pair of paul green black loafers, I wear almost every week at least one day. And some pants I got by Eileen Fisher, oh and the lovely grey zip up Nordstrom brand wool sweater from last year gets a lot of love too.
I LOVE hearing about the wins!

The preview launches tomorrow online, but I'm still crossing fingers that catalog arrives today. Would love a new pair of Aquatalia boots (the ones purchased a couple of years back during the sale are still a fave).

✨Putting black slightly-edgy but tasteful Aquatalia boots out into the universe. ✨

I keep hearing phantom mailbox noises even though the mail delivery is usually like 5 hours from now. HELP.
Boots are a wardrobe staple I keep realizing I need to add - the kind that look great, feel good, and work with skirts that go past the knee (both form fitting and loose).
So much of my “why don’t I wear this great piece?” is because I am missing the complimentary component. My goal this week is to spend some quality time with my wardrobe about what I really need and what my I’m missing to make what I already own fabulous.

Just realized my Aquatalia boots were purchased back in 2021 (they are aging beautifully because I wear them all autumn/winter and they still look great). These boots check all of the boxes: waterproof, good support, and while they appear to be lace up, they have a size zip so it's easy to get them on and off (perfect travel shoes for going through airport security).

More of these (or something similar) please, Nordies!

I got the catalog. There’s a lot here. Here’s what I’ve documented thus far. No longchamp in catalog. I apologize for being old & not tech savvy but I know I would prefer something over nothing

Ahhh I spy some Mansur Gavriel flats in a nice berry color!! I actually was just on their website eyeballing these exact shoes and wasnt sure what color I want but this looks perfect from what I can see- thank you! Those will go on my wishlist :)

Edit: Ok I also see an allsaints leather jacket, also in a berry? Burgundy? color... I might be in trouble here.

Thanks for the photos! I see a few things that look great, and I usually don't have much interest until I'm actually shopping. This year I need a dark brown belt, light-weight robe and I always like snagging a piece of jewelry. However I'm a sucker for berry/maroon and olive green anything, and that all saints leather bomber jacket did look intriguing!

Last year was a great year for me, but it was the year after having a baby so I was excited to shop and not be pregnant :) I used the items I bought so much and for so many special occasions and trips - the abstract julia jordan dress, the black halogen dress with white straps, the olive green nordstrom rancher hat, the tall brown boots, the mixed metal MV bracelet - I wear all of things consistently. I know sometimes they go on to be cheaper, but I was very happy with my sale purchases last year. Hoping the same this year, though I'll be a little tamer as there's less closet to fill!
