Just finished putting together my (fantasy) wish list . Couldn’t see anything I really needed …. yet!
But some wants ….. Mostly sneakers and jeans and basics for the hubby. Was looking for some basic cashmere sweaters maybe, but nothing looked good. Guess it is all for the best. In the past, I purchased for multiple households during Anniversary: ours, mother, daughters and now their spouses and babies! Great memories in past years of going into store early and seeing all the merchandise with knowledgable SAs. But our last in store experience pre-covid years, there was very little stock and ended up with SA ordering everything on-line ultimately.
The prices aren’t encouraging me to stock up on anything this year Past favorites I highly recommend: La Canadienne, Aquatalia and Blondo boots, Nike and Ecco sneakers, NYDJ and Paige jeans and the Longchamp pliage expandable bags! I already have so many pliage bags, but finding that Neo mini version pretty cute!
I look forward to this forum every year and the reveals! Thanks for your posts
 
I'm really surprised that things shipped! I thought for sure they would all be cancelled immediately. Nothing of mine shipped yet, but I really didn't have the presence of mind to get anything good at the time. My wish list is much more interesting than the things I managed to add to cart! Has anyone received a cancellation yet? I don't see how they can justify canceling if some have legitimately gone out. Where do you fairly draw the line over who get cancelled and who gets shipped?
 
Of the 15 items I ordered, 13 have now shipped and 11 of those are with Ontrac and being delivered tomorrow. (I did not expedite shipping). This is all so unreal. I will keep you posted if they intercept the packages and return them back to Nordstrom. I’m picturing that scene at the end of Argo where the military are trying to intercept the plane before it leaves Iranian airspace :shocked:

It’s hard to imagine Nordstrom would bother given all the extra cost. Plus while we here know the exact start dates of the sale and understand the unfairness of it all, other “normal” (not obsessed) folks might’ve just seen the preview email, gone to the site, and bought the stuff without realizing that there had been any glitch. To those people, it is going to be really bizarre and upsetting if it all gets cancelled, whereas we here would be like “oh well!” And happy for the icon/ambassadors. A mess either way.

It’s also just so strange that I bought everything *before* doing a wishlist or even looking at everything. Very weird wrong order experience.
I think you're spot on - its an additional cost to pull back the packages. A logistical NIGHTMARE, and it would piss off customers who are clearly the shoppers who are dying to make a wishlist ASAP. I would love to know how many customers placed orders for the 2 hours the site accidentally accepted.

At the end of the day, they want to sell the items... I have a pretty good feeling the Icon members will still be able to get everything they wanted, unless ladies are fighting over the $670k canary diamond necklace. We shall see how this plays out, I hope everyone on this thread gets the items they're wanting :heart:
 
Nordstrom is not losing money by honoring the orders that took place due to the glitch, what they are losing is their loyal buyers confidence in their tiered access system. To know that anyone could shop during the glitch doesn't make consumers confident they should shoot for a higher status to improve their buyer access.

I'm just venting a bit (Ambassador status here) and the fact that I watched Parasite last night! :lol:
