ROOTS! They have awesome quality leather handbags.
We bought one for my mom's bday, and it was $500 or so
However, we bought her a big one, and the most expensive
one in the store, im SURE some go for around $200.00

Also, Danier leather has some awesome leather purses.
My mom bought a swingpack the other day, it was only
$49.00 They're sold out online now though... But they
have awesome leather pieces, not just the swingpacks!!

PS. Im not sure if you live in Canada/US, but I live
in Canada and they have these stores!

Omg! Ya lancel too!!
I saw that brand when I was in paris a few weeks ago...and
coincidentally, i tried on that EXACT same bag- but in a cream
colour!!!!!! I LOVED it! But the SA was pushy and wanted
me to buy instantly.... :S

I just got a fabulous Abro (German designer) bag at TJ Maxx for $129!! They usually have a good selection of high quality Italian bags - designers not sold so much in the US, but you will find them in Italy. The prices are usually under $200 and the style, leather and workmanship is good.

I have very good experience in the Lancel boutique in Brussels. I was trying on a few bags, then I asked for the latest catalog and the SA even packed it nicely in a Lancel paper carrier bag for me! I'm impressed and I will definitely buy that bag soon. BTW, it retails at 490 euros... relatively affordable, right?;)

I always loved the leather bags from River Island :) The ones i have seen in the shop have lovely rich leather and they have some really lovely designs too.. Not to sure if you can order them online or if they are available in the US.. (Originally form the UK i believe?!)...

I use to be into high end designer bags like LV, Gucci, Balenciaga. Now I only look at Roots and Danier. Excellent quality leather and very reasonably priced, practically a steal when it's on sale.

I've put myself on a ban from high end designer purses .. and bought a Makowsky Eden Shopper. It's a fantastic purse and the leather is amazing! I also bought a Tano .. but haven't received it yet.

Hayden-Harnett bags are my absolute favorite for yummy smooshy leather and great hardware details, but I also like Linea Pelle, Francesco Biasia, Gustto, Rafe, Diesel (their "good" bags, not their cheapos), Tano, Charm & Luck, Lucky, Helen Welsh (glazed leather like Tano but more conservative in styling--the leather on these bags smells AMAZING), Jacqueline Jarrot (leather only), Betsy Johnson, Guess Collection...I have purchased all of these bags on eBay, most of them New with Tags and none over $200. I only have two actual designer bags, a Prada Antik Cervo and a Marc Jacobs hobo, and I actually like my cheaper bags better.
