So, I have a Troupe 16 on backorder that they are still selling as in stock. I actually have two of them on backorder because the first order was on backorder so I ordered another "in stock" and it was processing now backorder.

Meanwhile they are still selling the bag.

Coach order fulfillment is so frustrating. I had to order the Darla bag 7 TIMES both online and by phone until one of them actually shipped. The rest went to backordered/cancel over a period of days or even weeks! Finally arrived yesterday from the warehouse in perfect condition, still wrapped.

I feel like when there are only a few bags left, they have trouble finding them at the warehouse or something and then finally someone locates it if you order enough times LOL.

Just chat with Coach online and ask to locate in a store. Ground shipping is free. I'm sure they have them in stores.

Just curious.... it seems like this year they have changed from being more proactive about having stores sending out the stock. For example in previous years if their stock online was really from stores, they would simply have the stores send the bag. this year it seems like they are much less organized based on experiences mentioned here.

I wonder if part of the decision has to do with sales quotas (brick mortar verses online)??? You know its all about the benjamins...In any case I would also be curious to know.

I remember getting some store bags from the SAS sale in past years, and I never liked when that happened, but I would prefer that to everything going on backorder as it has for some here....

Right & I think any type of consistent communication would help their customers. Based on conversations with their customer service representatives, I suspect that their internal change management is suffering too.

Your guess is as good as mine. My SA said he's never seen such a low turnout of people during Christmas! I guess they expected more sales in stores than online. I don't care where they send it from as long as they pack it well. However, it's very frustrating when chat tells you it's sold out everywhere and then bam they restock and it's available again! As always Coach likes to be inconsistent as always true to it's character.

Yes, and then when people order online as it appears available (regardless where the stock is), and then it goes on backorder--only to find multiple people here finding it in a store. so crazy. I mean, if they know their stock is from a store, Coach should just have them send it versus cancelling an order, and having the bag just go to the person that happens to call the store instead. It is all very weird.

I have no idea if this is accurate, but during one of my bag buying fiascos for this sale, customer service told me the online order will only be sent to stores for fulfillment if there are a high enough number of bags showing still left. So, if only 5 bags let’s say show still left nationwide, the order will go to backordered-cancel automatically. If there are high enough numbers left in stores, they will send it to ship from store and then it may or may not get fulfilled that way, depending on if a store decides it wants to fill your order.

Seems like a wonky system but maybe they can’t come up with something better?
