Do I need to ask my sa for an invite to the private sale? Are invites only sent out if you live in New York?

I just read through the posts here and I am going to being in New York the week of the sale, quite by accident. Although not a VIP and I have no invite, I am excited to go to my first sale, when it opens to the public. Could someone tell me where it is? Good luck to all who get to go the first day, lucky you!
I'm surprised there are SO many sales going on around the world!! Does this mean that H is not selling as well as other years? And does this mean it will be more often from now on? I'm sad I missed the sales at my local boutique. They said it was a one time thing and they don't know when they might have another one...
They're only sent to clients considered VIP's. That's just for the first day which is also for the press and industry, it's open to the public the other days.
Looking forward to some intel here, too. If they have H clic clacs, I think I will cross the GW bridge and try to make it to the sample sale.
i left home and realized I did not bring the physical invitation with me.... Will they let me in? I think they should have the guest's name in the iPad like last year? :cry:
Update: so I decided to drop by and confirm before I get to other stuff. They confirmed that as long as your name is on the list, they will let you in. They could check on the iPad.

Originally I only have 30 min to shop... But now they are only admitting 5 people at a time. I just hope I can go in and take a quick look since I need to be in uptown around 1:15pm
