New VCA Lucky Animals brooches

Just wanted to share my new lucky animal pin. I just love it. Thanks to all of you in this thread for making me aware of this new dachshund release. I probably wouldn’t wear it with my pendant again. Perhaps a bit too much. But I was shameless and wore it out of the store this afternoon! I saw the teddy bear and it is absolutely darling. It can also be worn as a pendant. Adding it to my wish list.

Your daschund is so cute! Is the pin angled horizontal to be worn as a pendant also (might not be as his head might be in the way).

I think you could absolutely wear the pendant and your daschund together. The solid color top makes it look fine and not too much at all.

Are you dining in France? That's the way they serve bread, fruit, and jam there, right on the table! Looks yummy!

Thank you BigAkoya for your kind words. Unfortunately I can’t wear it as a pendant due to the shape of the dachshund and the placement of the pin mechanism. But you may have just given me the confidence to wear it with my pendant anyway since they are both RG. ☺️

I wish we were dining in France!! But, alas, we were at a French restaurant here in the US.

Awww thank you. I’ve decided to be bold and venture outside of my comfort zone and wear them together occasionally after all. The Lucky Dachshund is only offered in the carnelian. Which was perfect for me because it was my first VCA piece in carnelian. Now I need a 5 motif bracelet in carnelian too. It never ends.

Bumping this thread! I usually don’t wear pins in the summer because summer fabrics are often too light to support the weight of the pins and they flop over. And VCA clips are heavy. So I bought a VCA chain so I could occasionally wear this little guy as a pendant. The chain was pricey but so worth it because of the sparkle. Thanks for letting me share!

I love this! this is so cute! The chain was totally worth it, as he hangs perfectly and is so charming!
By the way, if he decides to do backflips, you can use the rubber silicon ear plugs in each pin, and the little guy won't flip anymore.

Your short chain should be fine as the little guy is pretty much against your body vs. a longer chain where the little guy has more ability to swing back and forth.

Today when I purchased the perlee couleurs earrings, I came across this hummingbird brooch. I like lapis lazuli very much so I paid a deposit to hold it. Add a bit more and I can get a 10 motif TE. Should I get the 10 motif first or just grab this brooch when the lapis lazuli is not replaced with BA. I am not saying that they will use BA later but you will never know. I do have winter clothes to match.

I also try on the two butterfly in lapis and finally understand why so many of you got it because it's very comfortable to wear.

Is it really difficult to get the hummingbird brooch or is it just a gimmick or my imagination?

Beautiful brooch. For me it would come down to cost per wear, whichever I see myself reaching for more often would be my preferred choice. For me I'd get much more uses out of a 10 motif TE since I don't use brooches, I own several and only used them 3-4x in the span of a decade lol...

Those are tough choices. Personally I don’t wear brooches, so I’d get the TE necklace, but for a brooch the colors are spectacular!

It's funny. When I knew that the bunny brooch's TE was about to change to obsidian, I posted a comment here that I would skip the bunny because of cost per wear but when I saw this brooch today, I put down the deposit without hesitation because the striation on the malachite is perfect. I know there shouldn't be any specks on the lapis lazuli but the specks suit the bird's wings, it resembles the feathers.

The hummingbird is too tempting.

I never thought I would forget about cost per wear for this one. I have run my wardrobe in my mind at vca store and I know I would most likely wear it in winter.

You're right, the striation on the malachite is perfect! As long as you can see yourself wearing it then go for it. If you change your mind after they change the stone you'll end up paying much more in the prelove market (and if anyone's' selling it).

I guess subconsciously I didn't get the bunny in TE in order to get this.

A few years ago, I remember asking the SA once about this brooch and she said it could only be ordered but I had to risk the stones not suit to my liking. Now I don't have to worry.

I have to find ways to turn it into a pendant.

The stones in this hummingbird are gorgeous! I have two clips and a 10-motif MOP necklace. I actually wear the clips more than the necklace. And this is coming from someone who hasn’t often worn brooches. I wear the clips more in the winter when I wear blazers and heavier fabrics since the clips have some weight to them and struggle not to flip over on lighter summer fabrics. I always get compliments on them because they are so unusual and beautiful. In fact, I plan to wear one this evening on a blazer when my husband and I go out to dinner. But I agree with the other ladies. Get the one you will wear most. For me, the clips make me smile so I manage to find opportunities to wear them as much as possible. I am so curious now about which one you will choose. Please share an update with us!
