It's inevitable. That's how these come in and will become as you wear them. It's not a big deal.

Yeah it gets worse as you wear it because the zipper will pucker up on top as it meshes in to your body.
Smooth leather is a new release , chevron is a few years old and recently had a price increase
I’m also new to the camera bag game. Currently covering the YSL camera bag as well as the Gucci. I already own two other YSL bags.... any suggestions on which one to chose? Any insights on if one is a better value etc vs the other? They are similarly priced etc but Gucci better than YSL or is it just personal opinion? 
Hi there, I'm both a YSL and a Gucci fan, although, I've been hanging out in this forum lately. I have this Gucci Marmont bag in black and it's a workhorse! I absolutely love it. I like having both the gold hardware logo on one side and the low key stitched GG on the other side. I also like the chain detail. I don't have any experience with the YSL Camera bag. But I am a YSL fan. I think they would both be great, but just wanted to you give you insight on the Marmont.
When I first started looking into camera bags, the Marmont was the front runner. However, when I saw (and held) the YSL, I knew that I had found my bag. It’s obviously a personal preference, but after examining the YSL, I realized that I’m not a fan of the chevron pattern on the Gucci. I much prefer the more simplistic pattern of the YSL - it’s less busy, and just has a cleaner, more elegant look to me. Again, just my personal opinion.
That being said, I have 5 (canvas) Gucci bags, and have been extremely happy with the quality! The camera bag is the only YSL that I currently own, and after using it about 15 times, there are numerous creases in the leather, on the top of the bag, by the zipper. The majority of the bags in my collection are made primarily of fabric, so I’m not sure if creasing in the leather is a normal occurrence, but it does bug me!
