If LVs Beauty line does well with these prices then Chanel will probably take notice and start doing increases on their makeup like they do on everything else. 😅
The packaging is very distinctive & likely that is where the pricing comes in.
Hermes lipstick cases don't look like that, nor do TF, YSL, Chanel or any other brand in the $80+ price point
For me it will be the quality, creaminess & wearability of the lipsticks & balms that will be the drawing factor, JMO

I'm sure that the formulas will be next level and truly amazing, but I am very disappointed in the packaging. Just as with the perfumes, this was a major opportunity to create some unique industrial designs. I would have loved if they hired Marc Newson again to make something that actually stands out. These don't stand out. Very basic — and not in a good way — as if someone slapped the logo and symbols on some generic off the shelf plastics. Also this whole black-gold aesthetic that is nauseatingly overused under Ghesquière, and the fact that the have to put a GIANT monogram on everything just to make sure people see it. Feels like as if the Michael Kors clientele has grown up and now LV is making them even boujier merch. Just unsophisticated.

How else will they sell the limited edition/collab/holiday variations later when people haven’t used up what they have yet? says the person who’s an absolute sucker for LE packaging.

I felt very similar with H packaging until I saw the rose tamisé lipstick (and I don’t wear lipstick). That lipstick, another shade, a lip shine, nail polish, the regular matching rose tamisé nail polish, and their regular lip balm and oil later and I know I’ll be buying a regular balm for the color and whatever special packaging that’s “me” down the road.

If these prices are correct I will not be buying. I am very tempted, because they look GOOD and I could afford it, but I don't want to be OK with that price range for make up.
Same. I had assumed they were gonna be $100ish. I used to be a makeup artist, and at the end of the day, you can get quality stuff for way cheaper. I’ve yet to run across any lipstick formulation that I’d pay that much for. I get it, it’s the designer, packaging, etc., but I don’t see LV suddenly coming out with makeup formulas that blow everyone else out of the water. I’d love to be proven wrong, though! 😬

As a lip balm die-hard, I love that they did this and there's at least three tints I want to try beyond clear. Now just to narrow it down with those, the trunk, and the mini cosmetic/lipstick bags.

I keep going back and forth with the trunk though. I really love the look of it, but I also can't help but think it's going to be cumbersome to get in and out of as frequently as I need lip balm. Then again, does it even matter when it's that adorable?
Maybe the lipstick holder will start making your lip balm application more ceremonious and remind you to take a few moments to yourself? I hope that everything in the collection is refillable - that would justify the price a little.
