Michael Kors New Hamilton Traveler!!!

Got my black large hamilton traveler from Macy's weeks ago! Wasn't able to post at an earlier date because they sent me an obviously returned one so I had to have it replaced. The first one arrived in a random plastic bag with no protective covers whatsoever and it had scuffs at the front and at the bottom 
It also didn't come with a dust bag! A travesty! I immediately returned it and after a few days they sent me another bag coming from the same location. This one arrived in an MK plastic bag, fully covered and padded with soft paper/tissues all over, and had a dust bag! The bag is also perfect inside and out. It was smooth, shiny, and buttery - the way it has to be.
After a few days of using it (I mostly commute via subway and bus), it had a few marks at the front, but not too obvious, unless you really stare at it. I agree that the leather is too soft and prone to scratches, but I can live with it. This bag is really gorgeous! I also got it at a really awesome price; around $194 including tax.

Despite all the reviews saying how this bag is prone to scratches, i went out and got this bag in black today. There was an extra 25% off on sales items so couldnt pass up on the deal. Let me tell you that this bag is GORGEOUS and is the perfect size as well (bought it in large). I dont know why, but it reminds me so much of the Hermes Birkin bag, minus the leather quality of course.
Now the question is, is there any type of spray or cream i can put on the leather in order to protect it from scratches? I'm usually pretty careful with all of my personal items but any tip to help make this bag last longer will be well appreciated.

So I have decided to return both my luggage and black traveler. They are gorgeous but I really don't need them and I am worried about the leather getting scratched easily. Ever since I got them, they have been sitting in my closet with the tags attached. No point in keeping them around if I will barely use them
They have at Macy's medium studded navy Selma I bought one. I didn't see it online but found mine in the store

I almost bought a navy hamilton traveler today but it's just LIKE not LOVE. The Spring line hit's my store monday or Tuesday and I will wait and see what's new. Mk boutique has lrg travelers down to 149.00 if anybody is interested, not sure about online.
I like the Traveler, but I'm not sure of the leather when it comes to scratches. I prefer my saffiano bags. I can put them anywhere and they still look fantastic and hold up great. With three kids and a full time job, I don't want high maintanance bags. I do hope they come in saffiano at one point, then I would probably end up buying one .

Zappos.com has the larger traveler in black and luggage in SAFFIANO. Kidproof!!
That's the top zip Hamilton tote. A little different, but close enough.
LOL! I meant to include top-zip. I'm not crazy about the tz traveler in saffiano leather. The stiff shape just seems "off" to me, but that's probably just me. It's the only option available in the traveler style and saffiano, that's why I mentioned it. I wonder if it will come in more colors besides black and luggage?
It has been out for a while, and I haven't seen it in a variety of colors. I'm not sure of its popularity.
I don't think it's very popular at all. Someone asked about it on the forum several months ago and the reviews were mixed. I'm not really feeling it myself.
