New Dior Small Lady Dior (not medium, not mini, not large, new size)

I really like the new LD size, as I always thought the mini is too small and the medium is a bit too big for my liking! I really like how u pair it with the red dress and I think it looks wonderful. Although I think ur gripe is mainly with the thick straps ( which again I enjoy, I find it more comfortable lol ), the diorama will in red be the next best bet! The red is gorgeous and really just pop!

I still think ur first choice of LD is the best though! Best of luck

Thanks so much for your input zoesassynuo!! I love the new size of the Lady Dior, it's a perfect size, and the flap opening is great, can be worn crossbody, the cute pins add personality to the bag, but again yes you got me![emoji38] if only the straps is thinner. I agree with you for the comfortable side but the looks is also important to me[emoji12] I guess it's all depend on how I wear to pair with... below pic was my outfit on the day I bought the bag, and I guess you know why I end up getting it[emoji38]

This is a question I keep asking myself? Will DIOR keep the DIORAMA? It's their biggest competitor with Chanel boy bag at a much more affordable price point with beautiful chain. I appreciate the construction of the bag and the red caviar leather, thought wished it's leather lined. The red remains in my heart. However I'm starting to loose a bit faith with DIOR. Two years back when I ventured into DIOR and begin to be an addict, SAs told me that MISS DIOR is their classic, then shockingly it was discontinued and then DIOR promoted the BEDIOR bag so much and all SAs confidently said it will remain their classic ( I don't blame them). Now I've checked and it will be discontinued sadly. Such a beautiful top handle bag. So now it's the DIORAMA's turn they claim it will be their classic. Even though I choose to believe half what they said ((DIOR), it's a shape that I don't think will date as long as the Chanel boy stays alive. Square, rectangular, trapezoid bags will always be in the market. Not sure of cylinders though. Also the chain on DIORAMA is gorgeous. If you don't mind the badge logo then it doesn't matter. The bag is priced at £2500, if the colour, functionality and leather plus hardware choice can serve you through 2-3 years I think it worth the money. It's a beautifully made bag that I think no one dares to say it look dated even if DIOR discontinued it. For instance , even a birkin style is classic but it looks ugly if the bag is really worn out or beaten up in 2-3 years time.
Looks like I've just talked myself into getting the red grained Diorama too. Bottom lined, get that SEXY bag!!!View attachment 3496231 I can't stop staring at it either[emoji7][emoji7][emoji7]

OMG I'm thinking the exact same question since they release diorama!! To be honest, what affecting me chose the Lady Dior in small is because consider LD is a classic bag, I feel safe for its value, and I can took out the strap for more formal event.

I do have a Chanel boy black medium calfskin champagne gold hardware, I love the style, it works so well for my everyday lifestyle but I constantly remind myself not to get a second one due to worried it might be dated one day and the resell value of it will be very low.

I found out Diorama medium calfskin is definitely lighter and roomier compare to my medium boy, price point also a plus plus lol.

I'm so sorry to hear that regarding your MISS DIOR and BEDIOR, I guess at the end of the day, SA is still a sales person, they cannot say anything bad for the company as it might against their company rules, and also they won't know how long Dior is gonna produce the line.

I can see myself using the Diorama a lot base on my experience of Chanel boy, I really hope they both stays in the classic line, because I wanted to use it for a longtime so that it worth the money I paid and I love classic timeless pieces.

Diorama is such a practical design , very versatile too!! Oh gosh your photos sold me!![emoji7][emoji7][emoji7] Lol looks like we have no choice stepping back this time lol, do let me know if you are finally getting it![emoji5]

Yeah go get the red DIORAMA if you know the style works for you. I don't recommend the microcannage metallic. The only reason I'm still holding back it's because I have a red caviar boy too but the length of the strap is annoying, too high for my liking. But I'm never sick of red bags.

According to my SA, Diorama is their #2 best seller globally. It would be insane for them to retire it as I feel like it's just gaining momentum and also attracting new Dior clients. The Diorever is also a best seller.

That said, I personally love the Diorama and regardless of whether it will be discontinued or not, I have the Diorama large black grained calfskin at the very top of my wishlist for Fall!

I can see you are a Dior lover, feel so great to have you giving me advice as I'm new to Dior[emoji5] I would love to see your silver panarea, it would give me a peace of mind for sure! And I will definitely head in the store again wearing my usual outfit to try them on again! Thank you so much for the idea!

Below are one of the thread regarding the the issue of the perforated metallic micro cannage bag. Being such a lovely bag, if this gonna happen sooner or later, I don't think I have the guts of buying it[emoji20]feel so sad about her having issue with the bag.

I already having sleepless night thinking about which option to go and that's why I seek you guys help here, as no one in my family love and appreciate the value of luxury designer goods. Now dig deeper in my heart I think I'm more towards Diorama. Despite the badges Lady dior being so popular and limited, if it's doesn't work for my style it's not mean for me, but my SA keep telling me it's a pity if I decided to let it go.

Will definitely update here how it's goes[emoji8]

I think the concern should be taken very carefully and not be seen as the experience of all metallic Diorama owners. One tPFer's experience doesn't necessarily mean all the bags are defective. It sounds like the tPFer happened to have received a faulty bag where the colour didn't hold on very well, but a few others have also bought the metallic perforated mini-cannage and have had no issues whatsoever.

I still think everyone will have a preference over what colour looks best, but in the end the decision is yours and whatever colour and bag combination claims your heart that makes you think 'I want this one'. The SA will be disappointed you're returning your red Lady Dior because it is one of their classic bestsellers, but you should be choosing a bag that suits you and your style. I'll post a photo of my silver Panarea when I get home, but I've posted the message below for your information (I believe from the same thread as your quoted message). You can see the message below here: http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/do-dior-bags-hold-their-value-over-time.930520/

As I said, some people have found the metallic finish to be delicate, but not everyone has. I think it's important for people to know that. One person's bad experience doesn't mean all bags in that line are flawed. If someone owns a beaded bag and some beads fall off on one person's bag, if doesn't mean that this will happen to everyone who owns that bag. Sure, you have to take care with special finish bags (like beaded or metallic finish ones), which you should do with any leather in my view, but as long are you're aware of the risks associated with a leather type you could own the bag for a lifetime and not have a problem! Crocodile skin, swift leather and lambskin are all very 'delicate' leathers too!

I've owned my Diorama for just as long as the member on here who had the issue with wear on her corners, but my bag still looks 100% brand new, and I use mine all the time. Everyone will have a different experience.

Some of the metallic colours like blue or pink, in my opinion, show wear faster, because the metallic coating is a bright colour and the leather underneath appears to be a dark grey. With my silver diorama, because the coating is silver and the leather underneath is grey, you wouldn't be able to notice corner wear much anyway (especially with the perforated design). The gold might be slightly different, but I don't own it so I can't speak for that colour.

All bags and leather types have their pros and cons. Lambskin bags are just as if not more delicate than metallic and other special finish bags. The corner wear I've seen on some relatively new Chanel and Dior lambskin bags is horrendous. I'm quite scared of lambskin bags for this reason and don't own any of my own (yet), but lambskin bags are adored by most people here on TPF. I'm sure there are thousands of people who have never had an issue with their lambskin leather. It just depends on how you wear and care for your bag  Everyone will always have a different opinion, so you can only make the call for yourself.

I'm in no way trying to sell or convince anyone to buy the metallic Diorama, but people should be aware there are 2 sides to every story ;)

Lol there you go, one is never enough if you love the red colour[emoji12] wonder is your red boy is in different hardware with the diorama? If it is, than you have one more reason getting it[emoji6] but not sure if there is any length different between the strap of Diorama and boy, I feel the same for both though.

Very true, I have seen a lot more people carrying Diorama nowadays, its popular for a reason. Finger cross Dior is smart enough to keep the line long term.

Wish you very best of luck getting your Diorama !![emoji173]️[emoji173]️

I think if they do discontinue the diorama sometime in the future, I don't think it is necesaarily a bad thing. U could think only a few exculsive few manage to get a hold on it! the older Be Dior is gorgeous, sad that it was discontinue but doesn't mean it doesn't have a classic style status. To me it will forever remains a classic. I guess it depends on how you want to see it, if you love it and it is ur style, it really shouldn't bother you if Dior choose to discontinue it!

Thank you so much for the info!! I'm now more towards getting a Diorama regardless, my SA sure will be very disappointed. But what to do, I'm the one using it, and I already have a mini Lady Dior. Thank you once again for your positive input for the metallic finish leather bag!!

This is my little beautiful but fragile Snow White, I have enough delicate bags , now I prefer durable bag that I can enjoy more [emoji13]

Yea, if you think the other way it's true also. Like my SA said, is either dated or vintage. As long as you love it , use it , it is "your" classic. Glad that I love all my bags I currently own.

I LOVE your mini Snow White! I'm in the process of getting a mini Lady Dior as well, I'm really excited! Sounds like you've decided on the Diorama and you have to go with what's right for you. We're all excited to see if you go with the red or silver!

I've taken photos of my small silver Panarea (from 2011) and mini gold Gaucho (from 2007) for you to see how metallic leather has fared over time (the embedded photos appear quite small on my phone, but if you click on them, they should take you to the full size image):

Thank you so much for the effort of showing me your lovely bags! I'm amazed by how you keep it so well!! I sincerely hope Dior maintain its quality nowadays!

I think your panarea is similar leather finish with the small Lady Dior in silver as pics below..

While the diorama micro-cannage silver is close to a patent leather, I hope this doesn't affect its durability.

Yea after getting various info from you all kind bag lovers here I'm pretty sure will be a diorama I'll be getting [emoji847] now I blame myself why I didn't seek for help here earlier [emoji39]

Don't like the pins either. I hope Dior comes out with small size in another kinds of strap. Or better yet, just sell straps separately like the others.

I decided to get the medium red grained Diorama too. Can't wait to see if we will be bag twins! I think Diorama in red is so stunning!
