New diamond with halo setting...too much bling/ ring for my finger...?

What I would do is get a matching band to wear when you wear the e-ring. Then the "real" wedding band when you only want one ring. You're not getting rid of the sentimental one, you still have and wear it.

i like this idea alot. I really each pieces separately, but they compete and take away from each other. you don't have to wear it all at once, and it gives you the excuse for more jewelry!

Thanks everyone! I love to hear what everyone thinks:)

I would love to sell DH on the idea of getting a narrow band to pair, but he seems very insistant right now that I still wear my current rings every day and this will just be an addition to the set. I don't blame him though cause we have only been married two years and I AM getting this a bit early, mainly because diamond prices are going up.

my bf sounds the same way, but you may have to sit him down and tell him that you love both pieces but it still is your finger, and they don't compliment each other but rather detract and you want to honor both pieces in their separate entities because they're both statement pieces. But another option if you are happy with it is the picture you just posted. but remember make yourself happy! of course honor your husband since he is the one who gave it but i personally think you'd be happier if you were able to wear the pieces separately.

Am I too late to chime in an opinion?
First of all I love the set, both wedding band and e ring, and I'm a big fan of halos. Sometimes I get the occasional lust for simpler settings especially on days I 'm casual in jeans etc but that's not too often.

My opinion is this: keep your set as it is. It is gorgeous, and not "too much bling". Of course there is a time and place for everything, and sometimes both your rings on the same finger will be too much so you can do what I do and wear them on separate hands. I never take off my wedding band, and I usually pair it with 2 eternity rings. I wear the e ring on the other hand because I can't wear them all together on one finger, use it more like a cocktail ring. Depending on the situation I will add or remove something depending on my mood and where I'm going. Hope my opinion is useful.
Again I love the set and the halo, no need to change anything :D.
This is a nice suggestion too, but I can understand if you don't want to take of the sapphire just yet!

Hmmm... Better pic here.

I think that your ring is amazing just the way it is. However, do what makes you happy and not worry about the " haters " !

Upon checking back in I realized the I forgot to mention there will be no gap because when the jeweler makes my ring, he will style the under gallery different- the ring I was modeling was not really made to fit flush with a band like mine. Also, because my actual diamond is larger than the stone in the e-ring it will stand out a little more against the wedding band. Thanks for everyone's opinions, I am going to wait a few more days to decide....Although if I had to make up my mind right now I would still do it:)
Honestly, I was considering a solitaire, but that was only if I had gotten the size I originally wanted. With the recent price increases, I got priced out and had to cut back on size a bit:(

Thank you to everyone for all of the lovely compliments:) and cheers to all of my fellow halo lovers!
Love the ring, may I ask how many carats is the diamond? I am looking for a solitaire diamond. The last one I look at was 1.5 carats, e, vvsi, excellent for grades, Gia and it was going for $35k. Do you think this is a good price?

Absolutely gorgeous!

Gorgeous!!! Enjoy!

I love this!

I love your ring. I don't think it's OTT or blingy at all!

*sigh* every time I want a bling pick-me-up I check this amazing ring out :D

OMG it's gorgeous!

Thank you:smile1: The center is 2.5 carats 8.8mm. Are you still looking? That price sounds a bit high, but I believe prices may be a bit softer than they were in the spring...?
