^ahh, don't fear! My sapphire ring is happily present every day on my opposite hand:)

Yes, I realize my love for halos may be a bit overwhleming for some:p

What I would do is get a matching band to wear when you wear the e-ring. Then the "real" wedding band when you only want one ring. You're not getting rid of the sentimental one, you still have and wear it.

Thanks everyone! I love to hear what everyone thinks:)

I would love to sell DH on the idea of getting a narrow band to pair, but he seems very insistant right now that I still wear my current rings every day and this will just be an addition to the set. I don't blame him though cause we have only been married two years and I AM getting this a bit early, mainly because diamond prices are going up.

It is really about looks or love? If you love it then wear it. People who provide negative comments are usually people who secretly wish they had a ring such as this one. Wear it if you love it!

I love your wedding band and I think the new ring would sit better without the halo. It's not so much that it's too much bling for my tastes as much as I think it looks like a lot of trends going on at once. But really, it's all a matter of taste... I tend to be picky on what I like blingy and what I don't. You're lucky to have such a big, beautiful center stone and I think too many little diamonds take away from it.

Your husband must be a wonderful guy! I hope you both like your new set!

I personally think that a band that matches the shank of the ering would look better next to it. It's not too much bling but the band is too much for the ering. Overwhelms it.

Do YOU like it?

ita~!! the e-ring looks gorgeous by itself or w/ a thinner band... the ring "POPs" by itself... and the thicker wedding band sorta steals the show .. kwim?

In fact.. your wedding band looks gorgeous by itself too.. and agreed with AME... it would be great to wear it when you only want to where 1. BUT.. everyone's tastes are different... definitely wear the combo that makes you happy! ;)

I actually love really different and unique wedding sets that are out of the ordinary. For me personally, I can see where your friends say it's a lot of bling. I can't pull it off but I can also name a few friends who I know can wear it and their personality doesn't make it seem like it's overwhelming. The set has to suite the person. And if this suites you, then keep it.

But if you are uncomfortable with the pairing together but are sentimental for the wedding band, have you considered resetting the diamond into a simple solitaire? Maybe placing a colored stone in the current setting? Or doing a plain shank on the current setting? I'm a huge plain shank halo fan and it may help you keep the halo look.

I think we are all looking at these pictures and all we see is this big picture of a wedding band. I don't think this is the case IRL, when you wear both the wedding band and the new ER I do not think it is too much, yes its going to be sparkly!!! but I think they can work together, you have very nice hands and I think you can work it!
