the hot cocoa is a used charm, like the seller said, and missing a band of pink on the bottom. some scratches can be seen close-up, and some tarnishing on the chain links, but it is still really cute! i'm amazed that the bottom band of pink enamel has worn off so completely but i think i prefer it this way! these flaws are not obvious to the naked eye anyway. :yes: i love it!

And finally an update. I received my gumdrop charm yesterday in the mail. I have some concerns and after further looking at it, am going to be contaciting the seller. Of course most of the sugar is worn off. The charm is not NIB or new or remotely new and the clasp has been replaced. You can completely tell. Well, at least I can, because I know this charm is supposed to have the original cut-clasp and also for the fact that the gold on the charm itself does not match the gold on the clasp. I am going to contact the seller and see what she says. For $109.00 I just can't accept it, KWIM?

Thanks dragonette! I'm really disappointed. As much as I love the charm itself, this one is just bad. The clasp is mortifying. Sigh... I hate having to argue with people or be completely confrontational. I just really can't believe the whole situation. And I love buying on eBay!

Here are the pictures of the Whale comparison. Mister fakey's quality is so bad, both his hands were lost.
Anyway in short form the counterfeit is:
-a shade lighter in colour
-his eyes are flat instead of slightly raised
-his tale doesn't bend very far side to side
-the water from his blowhole is smaller and closer to the body
-his mouth isn't as defined
-yorky is on a longer chain
-the parts that connect the water & arms on the inside are different. Water on the fake is straight in (as seem on the roof of the mouth), while the real bends in

It seems like the gold on fakes are always brighter like a candy coin wrapper and the 14k plated on authentic charms has a deeper glow.

tup, I'm sorry about your gumdrop. :( I agree for that price you should be totally happy.

I agree that the horsie could have been much cuter. it's still on my list to buy, just not as close to the top now. I'll wait for a discount on him.

^^ I like eBay. I really haven't had any problems. I did a pre-order for a Diecast Car in late 2007, and it was "supposed" to ship in Feb. 2008. The seller never shipped, so I asked for a refund and she went completely crazy on me. I couldn't file through Paypal anymore, so I went through my CC. She actually had the insanity to lie to my CC company and tell them that I never contacted her, when I had saved and sent all her rambling insane e-mails to them. They were like, yea, no. Other than that I really haven't had any issues on the buying side. On the selling side I've had several issues, mainly with resellers and people that don't like to READ. I couldn't stop shopping on eBay if I tried.

Thanks guys, we shall see what and how things play out. I'd rather invest that money in a charm that's not so "bojankey"...

On a side note, I did go ahead and finally order my Princess Carriage from NM, only because they have free shipping, and I can't find it anywhere else. I also got the Vanity Mirror & the Silver Knights Helmet even though I have the Gold version, I like the purpely huge of the Silver.

I'm so tired, I must get motivated to do something, just can't... I wonder what charms GLL got?

Tup- I agree. your charm does sound bojankey. stupid ebay.
Tatertot- I feel your pain, we wanted a little girl too. And tup wanted a boy and got a girl, how fair is that? Juicy does make boy stuff, just not cute boy stuff lol.

I never really liked ketchup, so I never actually iate the ketchup, but we did have it. In purple and green. LOL. Tabasco hot sauce makes a green jalapeno hot sauce that is so good i could drink it from the bottle. Ohhhhh imagine the heartburn! The margarine came in pink and blue if i remember correctly. I used to love eating baked potatoes with the pink margarine!

No charms were delivered yesterday Tup. Today is a new day. Perhaps I shouldn't think about them and just allow them to "hit" when they do. I paid my CC bill yesterday and um, it appears I did quite a bit of charm damage.

Side note, does anyone have the Wii game and love it? I ordered one for myself yesterday... I am NOT a video game person. Don't laugh, the games I like are SuperMario Bros from wayyyyy back and Pac Man. I'm not good at neither but I liked to play them. Of course I got the Wii Fit bundle and am looking forward to a little yoga etc. Please tell me I didn't make a mistake buying this over inflated thing. I bought PS3 for hubby a while back and decided I wanted a game for myself. When I get tired of working at my desk I figured I could step over to my leopard chair and play with Mario for a little while...

Someone mentioned something about my desk the other day... I sure hope I said thank you. If I didn't, thank you so much. If I already said thank you then... :nuts: That's what's going on with my brain. I'm tired.

Bummer GLL, I'm still wondering what you got. I'm with you on the brain not working/tired thing. I had a Wii, but I sold it. I could not play the games. I liked the sports games that came with it, but actual video games I just couldn't play. We have a Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and both of us have Ninetendo DS. Out of all of them I like my DS the best. I bought the PS3 for hubby, but wanted Little Big Planet, and that's my favorite game. The 360 I don't touch. I do like Guitar Hero so we play that on PS2 & PS3. Oh, and Rock Band. My husband said maybe we'd buy another Wii after the baby is born so I can have the WiiFit to workout with. I'm all for it! I hope you like it, the Yoga looks cool. I love Mario too! It was my absolute favorite game growing up. That and Burger Time on Intelevision!
