You should never buy things you dont want just in the vain hope of ordering/buying a birkin/kelly! It just justifies their marketing strategy surely and in the end, you still dont get anything after spending lots of money. Hence the money is gone, and you are still majorly dissatisfied.

At the end of the day, it is just a bag!!! A status symbol, a beautiful bag indeed but you cant be spending your hard earned cash on a trip to paris, travelling to fsh/george v/rue de sevres then buying things you dont really want, practically begging to order a bag.

If it's meant for you, you and the bag will find a way somehow but dont spend cash unnecessarily on things you dont really want. Someone else may really want that lindy/evelyne/ridingboots but now cant have it because someone else bought it to try and get a birkin.

Someone once told me patience is a virtue, and indeed it is!

But to answer your question; those people you see checking out the samples might be regular customers (don't know if you are, but if not; that might be an explanation). Regulars often get 'squeezed' in, although the list is 'closed'. H doesn't do 'first come, first serve'.
Or maybe they discuss other bags than B's or K's?

at least the good thing is, i will be in Paris all the way till the end of this year, so i will try my best to visit the store as often as i can ... heheheheh

Just got back from Paris and i was lucky enough to get a birkin 35 navy blue Fjord from the Rue de Sèvres shop. It's absulotly beautiful! Its really difficult! The FSH shop is a madhouse. Very low inventory on the floor. Lots of tourists and SAs were busy turn away anybody asking for Kelly or Birkin although one SA was kindly offer me a Kelly 40 which is too big for me. The Sevres shop is much quiter thus SAs are much nicer and patient. Although I was first turn away by the SAs and not be able to place a order but I visted the shop twice a day two days in a roll. Fininally got my bag last day I was in Paris. How lucky I am!

darlinghustgal, congrats on your birkin!!!! I'm in Paris now and got rejected by FSH and Rue de Sèvres, but I agreed that sales at Rue de Sèvres were much nicer, so I'm planning to go there again since I'm staying here until Thurs, you mind telling me the name of the SA at Rue de Sèvres? So frustrated already......
