I'm the only one who picked No, not worth it

Yes, for me designer jewelry doesn't worth the high price point. Of course, if money is not an issue - go for it, but for me there is a better way to spend it when it comes to jewelry. I have only one designer piece - Damiani diamond ring from their orbital collection and I got it because of the different design. And there are many good quality similar design jewelry out there - you either can have few pieces for the same money or safe a lot of money :)

if you love it, go for it! I love this necklace, but want to choose the one for me at the boutique. Hopefully next year :-) Wish you can show your modelling pics :-))))

I was in a bit of a rush to get back to work and didn’t think to take a picture; will try to get in with my SA today to look at it again.

I respect your opinion! I agree, to an extent. The price on luxury goods is insane (wth, Chanel??) and, admittedly, the markup on this jewelry is quite high. In full disclosure, I am a jeweler’s daughter. I agree, there are so many beautiful, unique pieces out there. But, for me, there is something about the allure of VCA and I am enchanted by their pieces. It’s worth it as long as we enjoy, and continue to enjoy, our purchases.

If your chief concern is whether the necklace will stand the test of time/is a classic, I do think 1000% that it will be one to be kept and worn for life and then passed down. The colours of the onyx and MOP make it very versatile and I do think you can wear it with a business/linen button up shirt or v neck blouse, as well as with an evening dress/top/gown very easily. I also think the variation in motif size makes it a more modern piece than the typical 10/20 motifs, because depending on your style or what you like those can look a little office-y/run of the mill in some sense.

Unless you have something else on your wishlist competing for it I would suggest pulling the trigger on this one, esp before the price increase next week :)

What a lovely, enabling bunch you all are, LOL. I think I’m going to do it. I need to go in and try it on with a different neckline. I think what’s holding me back is this stupid pandemic! I don’t go anywhere; I have to remind myself that this isn’t forever and I WILL get opportunities to enjoy what I have, put on makeup, and be out in the world...in real clothes!

do you think you'd be able to style it with a suit? i love this necklace, but my wardrobe is at extremes, so to speak. i'm either in a suit or a t-shirt/sweatshirt/sweater and jeans.
I wish I had a picture. I wore it to a VCA holiday dinner last year with a Theory pant suit comprised of satin pants, satin cami and velvet blazer. I wear it with leggings and cashmere sweaters. I wore it with a t-shirt dress last week. I love it but just got sad of the thought of no VCA holiday dinner this year. I know, find one piece of gratitude today.

Thank you so much; yes, these are points I was wondering about.

I don’t really have much on my wishlist; maybe another bracelet. Ideally, I’d like to upgrade my diamond studs at one point but that won’t be VCA or any other luxury brand (not worth the markup).

Agreed re diamonds -- personally don't believe in buying brand name consumer diamonds.

If you are keen on the VCA then definitely prioritise the purchase; 5% on that price point does add up to a fairly tidy sum.

Also if of interest to you I think Kate Middleton has this necklace (not sure if in the exact colour/stones), but recall seeing her in them and she looked really classy. There's also this lovely elderly lady on instagram who reads poetry (lol random I know) and she has worn this before and looks beautiful wearing it even at her age. Try a google search! Definitely timeless and not a trendy piece; most people get the uniformed motif pieces! Good luck and let us know what you decide :flowers:

Thank you again! I’ve been obsessively searching IG (haven’t come across the poetry lady yet ). I believe Kate M’s necklace is all MOP motifs; agree, she looked beautiful. Need to find the poetry lady to see now ☺️

Unfortunately I randomly follow about 2000 accounts (crazy! I know!) and chanced upon hers randomly some time ago, so don't recall her handle. If I manage to locate it I will post it here! :P

{UPDATE} I *THINK* it's @ednaschoice - oddly I now can't locate a post of her wearing it, but feel free to check her out. Would love to age as gracefully as her!

Then buy it, if you like it and you think you will enjoy it. You asked for an opinion and I wrote mine - I do not expect everyone to understand it as I do not expect everyone to appreciate what I enjoy and appreciate. But it is always good to see things from somebody else's point of view.
