i love this ring to death, but the more i look at it, the more i feel that the side-stones are a bit too large for the center stone. I tried covering up the sides and look at it as a solitaire and feel that the center stone looks larger when without side-stones. what do you guys think? should i have the sides downgrade to 0.25ct each? switch the pears to round stones? reset it as a solitaire?

my friend had once commented that it might be the prongs that are too thick, making the side-stones look bigger...

from time to time i feel like my ring looks like a large marquis diamond sideways, rather than having a distinct center with side-stones...

honest opinion needed here, and really much appreciated!

I think your ring is absolutely gorgeous the way it is.
I'm no expert but I would not change it.

I agree. Personally, I think your ring is stunning! But if it really does bug you, you should go ahead and change it since you're the one who has to look at it everyday. I wouldn't change a thing though. Your ring is so elegant and I think the proportions are fine.

I forgot to add, as someone who positively loathes the marquise shape, I don't see your ring looking anything like that. When I look at it I see a round and two pear side stones, nothing else. Again, your ring is beautiful.

I think your ring is stunning and I love it as is-

I think if you went smaller you wouldn't have the same amount of 'finger fill' as you do now and it would look more like a tapered baguette instead of a pear. I never saw a marquis look from your pictures.

I like a 'chunkier' stone-your ring seems in very nice proportion and looks great on!! Keep it!!:smile1:

Changing the proportions of the side stones would totally change the look, and not in a good way, IMO. Your ring is absolutely gorgeous, and the proportions are perfect the way they are. I wouldn't change a thing.

I believe you posted reveals of your ring before in another thread. And when I first saw the photos, I thought it was gorgeous. It never occured to me that the side stones are too big. I thought the 2 side stones were very nicely proportioned to the brilliant diamond of that size.

And oh, by the way, you have lovely fingers!

OOOH! ITA with everyone your ring is BEAUTIFUL just the way it is. But if it will bother you I would downgrade the side stones because you are the one who has to wear it...
