Need opinions on this 85th anniv hobo + a question on velvet!

So i kinda fell in love with this 85th anniv hobo. It has such a unique sense of color and i just found out that it is VELVET.. now i have no experience with velvet and i have no clue how it would hold up on a bag.

Is there anyone who is familiar with this bag? or seen it? or has any experience with Gucci velvet material?

I am worried that the velvet material will rub away when i wear it? i dunno.. HELP!

P.S bag is 15 x 10. MSRP 995. Lady is asking 360obo so maybe 250-300ish so a good deal... I am guessing this bag went to outlet for 650ish?

Ive searched the entire internet and i can not locate another bag that looks like this.. maybe it is a replica?

The velvet definitely exists. It was also made in different styles in this coloured fabric. Almost bought a huge boston to use as luggage. There were also matching shoes from memory as well.

As for how it holds up, I've only heard good things about it from a friend who has one.

I've seen this purse in this color combo and brown/gold combo. I also PM'd you re: velvet care as I have found that it can be quite long lasting.
