Need info about applegard on Hamptons

I am just wondering if anyone has tried to use the applegard waterproofing on the Hampton leather? I got stuck in the rain today with my hobo, it wasn't hurt(thankfully). I am afraid to try it though cause I can't afford to buy a new one right now!

Thanks! I am going to try a little piece on the bottom first, hopefully it works. I have to take it out to Chicago in the snow for the winter!

If you apple leather does it prevent stains or color transfer. I have a sig/white pleated ergo and the white leather part will get any stain in it so I have to be extra careful but was wondering if the apple might help it.
