Need help: K25 retourne versus B25

love birkins because of easy access to bag content - and I really look forward to having a light blue B in my collection.
Could you ask your SA what are the chances of you getting a b25 in another light blue shade ? Or a special order?

Given what you’ve posted, I would pass on the 25K.

However, I find the so Kelly elan super easy to use and I don’t often buckle it up (but I don’t carry much either)

ETA: be sure you can handle the small handles of a B25. Although it fits on my wrist, many have complained it’s strictly hand carry. Some informative reading can be found in many threads including this one: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/any-birkin-25-regrets.1074904/page-2

I think a decision made with determination can open the door to a special order with these features.

Even if it's a color you adore, if the style of the bag doesn't sing to you it's better to wait, otherwise every time you reach for it, thinking 'what a great color' you could have flashbacks about how difficult the style was to manage the last time you wore it. I'd say that idea would hold true whether your preference is either K or B. @880 makes a great point about the ease of carry with the B25, and that thread is useful for perspective on the issues with the B25.

I love my K25 a little more then my B25, the handle fits nicely on my arm and I love to wear it crossbody. I’m small so the strap fits perfectly on me crossbody. I don’t find it hard to get into due to its size, my K28 I feel was more fussy. With that said if your heart is set on a B25 get that if possible.

Thank you so much, everyone, for providing much considered thoughts and insights. I am truly touched that you took the time to reply (I'm sorry, I'm soppy nowadays - menopause does that to you)! I watched the Dayle's Addiction video - goodness me, it reinforces my love for bleu lin. Also, it seems like the K25 is a recent purchase, which made me wonder if Paris is finally fulfilling the bleu lin Kelly orders from stores. I was informed that my store had ordered both K and B in bleu lin some years back but so far, no news on bleu lin B ever coming to stores. Everyone in the store is persuading me to have a look at the K, at least, before I make my decision. I think I will do that - I really want to see bleu lin bag in real life and I do know that any colours in swift will be beautiful. I am a Birkin lady at heart - again, mainly due to ease of access to bag content. I can even tolerate wearing my Constance bags as I find them not as fiddly as my Ks. I am also a massive fan of Hermes blues - I have bags and SLGs in Caban, bleu nuit, bleu indigo, bleu cobalt, bleu saphir, bleu electrique, bleu brighton, bleu pale ... (you get the idea)! I thought having a bleu lin B would round up my collection very nicely (ok, I also would love any shades of the Aizome bags but that's another story). If anything, my DH is most amused by my latest obsession! Again, thank you for bearing with me - much appreciated. Not much I can do for now but wait, I suppose!

Thank you! She has definitely been well loved. Mine is actually a verso with Beige de Weimar on the inside too.
This is the EXACT spec that I want! My store director told me that the latest bleu lin bags, regardless of whether they are Bs or Ks, are all in swift. I don't really mind swift but a togo would have been such a bonus. Ah, how much I regretted missing the boat on the specs like yours.

I truly hope so - but I don't think they have this in the SO colours - not even any other light blue shade. My store director, bless her, has been such an angel and I feel bad for making her feel bad (for not being able to fulfill my wish). I have made peace that I will not get a barenia Birkin in the past (yes, it's bleu lin and barenia for me). I had turned down, with little regret, fancy limited/special edition Birkins even because I was just so stubborn that way. I know that barenia is a PO and so it is a different story. Never thought it is also hard for me to get a bleu lin B! Apologies in advance if I sound like a stubborn toddler, and I can assure you, that I do actually have a really good life, for which I am most grateful, apart from this silly bleu lin/barenia B obsession!

I have both and eventhough Birkin's may be easier to get into, Kelly's work better for me as I live in a metro city and mostly get by on foot. Having the shoulder strap is a necessity for me if I am doing anything where I'll need use of my hands or I'll be out for more than a couple of hours.

It sounds like Birkin's are better suited for you so maybe wait until your store receives one. Sounds like your SA and SM are looking out for you, if one comes in it seems like you will get the call for it.

I would wait. Love the k25 for the handfree option. Love the b25 for the easy accessibility. While I love both styles and sizes, there are just some colors that I am intent in getting in a certain style versus the other. I feel like it you settle for the blue lin in the K., you're always going to be pining for it in a B.

Thank you! Exactly this. TBH, I wouldn't have mind (I think) if it is Lindy 26 (in swift) bleu lin, even, or a bolide - all, for me, are great for easy access. I was offered a mini Lindy in bleu lin late last year - I rejected the bag without seeing it as it would be too small. Will update everyone once I get the chance to view the K (and hopefully I will heed WhiteBus' advice not to be seduced by the opportunity)!

I have a B25 and K25 swift retourne. I use the K25 more often. It is actually rather easy to access, minimal fiddling other than just needing to support the base of the bag when turning the touret. Can get the flap open with one hand. Swift is light and pretty maleable. Agree that it doesn’t age well compared to other more sturdy leathers though…but l still love it.
