Guys,

Does the 31 look too much like my tag aqua racer?

The rolex (31):

The SA tried to convince me of going for a blue face but I don’t know if that would work for an everyday watch (ie go with most outfits). Thoughts?

This is the blue one (31). I would get the sticks not the diamonds:

Thank you guys again for helping me pick my first rolex :)

Hi! I would get the 36mm but with a white dial. A black dial is too harsh for me and I think it makes the 36mm look too edgy. The 36mm Rolex with a white dial is so bold chic to me.

And 36mm is not all that big. Many ladies with small wrists (me included here) wear a 40mm Rolex.

No, I don't think the 31 looks like your tag aqua. It's two different designs. The fluted bezel especially, makes it different. It's even more gorgeous under the sun/light. Even with the smooth bezel, it's very different than the Tag aqua watch.

As for the blue/navy face dial - I think the black matches your skin tone more than the navy. The navy changes color depending on the lighting (different shades), also depends on the color palette of the clothes you own. For example, I own a lot of dark color clothes like navy and black or white, so I would select the navy than the black. Also, the navy is dressier than the black dial, even without the diamonds. Navy has been the new "IT" colour for a while now. You can look below for a reference.

As for "every day watch" - you can choose 36 or 31. 31 can be worn for dressier occasions vs 36.

I think you should go for a lighter dial, black is similar to your Tag. Try Silver or Rhodium. 36 suits you with the full body shot. Consider the Roman Numeral, such a classic Rolex look instead of the stick (not a fan of stick dials). There’s also the 34 Date, fluted bezel with only oyster bracelet, check that out too. Can’t wait to see your final choice.

The blue dial with diamond markers is fabulous and is my next watch! The other watches are too similar to the Tag and you will be amazed how versatile the blue dial is. Funny how sometimes we are attracted to what we’re used to...try something different! The 31 is a great size for you, the 36 is definitely too big. Not a fan of the stick markers, diamond markers are my favorite.

I prefer the 31mm - it's more feminine and understated in a sense. The 36mm looks more manly? and "loud" - it draws more attention to your wrist, depending on what you prefer.
I definitely prefer NOT to draw extra attention to my wrist. I would like something that is understated and elegant. But I love the face of the 36mm more!

I like the 31 mm on you. Watches for men are already coming down in size. At some point, the large watches will go out of style for women. Watch companies have marketed larger to women watches to get them to buy more watches, because a smaller watch is more appropriate for many work and dress up occasions. I believe the 31 will be more versatile and will stand the test of time. I have a 31mm like the one you tried on w/ a black dial and Roman numerals. I love it.
Excellent feedback! Although I love the look of the bigger watch, I definitely don't want to go with something just because it is trendy now. I want something that I can wear in 20-30 years with ease. Would love to see pics of your watch :)
