I am surprised to hear that your homeowner's insurance won't cover it, TBH. I know that you typically need to itemize but.. anyway.

Is there anything in your current collection which you do not wear that you would consider selling to help ease the cost of replacement?
I am cleaning out the closet! lol. Yes I have sold so much.

So sorry to hear about your ring. I recently lost my Love bracelet (it fell off) but a week later 2 good samaritans found and returned the 2 separate pieces. So your ring may still show up. Sending lots of positive vibes. Prior to finding the bracelet, I did file a police report, lost & found report at my office building, at the subway company and commuter train company since I wasn’t sure where it fell off (I was on my way home from the office and took the subway and then communter train). I also called and filed a claim with my home insurance. I didn’t have the actual bracelet scheduled under my insurance because I was WFH and this was the first time I wore it out to the office. My home insurance does cover up to Cdn$8K of unscheduled item less $1K deductible. It wouldn’t have covered the whole cost but better than nothing so you may want to check your policy. Good luck!

I’m sorry you misplaced it for now…it might turn up.

If you’re not opposed to it, perhaps look into the same type of ring but in the preowned world? You’ll get the ring you want without the branded markup again.

Miracles do happen! Years ago I lost an expensive Michael Bondanza diamond locket. I had my son’s picture inside and absolutely loved it. I went to put it on, one day, and couldn’t find it. I saw my son with it one time, he was a toddler at the time, so I thought he may have hidden/lost it. I ripped the house, car, outside the house apart. Totally heartbroken! Luckily it was insured. I was so upset I didn’t buy it again. Fast forward 12 years…my wonderful thoroughbred had to be put down. I was beside my self with grief! I buried him in my backyard as I have a lot of land. Quite a job…you have to dig a deep hole. The next spring my ex-husband was doing something in the yard and saw a yellow chain coming out of the ground. Sure enough, he dug deeper and there was my locket. Banged up but all the little diamonds intact and my son’s picture still inside. Sent it back to my jeweler who restored it, beautifully, and monogrammed the front. It truly was a miracle and I still enjoying wearing it!
I believe my beloved thoroughbred had something to do with this story…a sign ❤️
Hi hun! I am so happy you found your locket! 12 years!!! wow

@sjunky13, so sorry to hear! I lost a platinum diamond band ring in February, so I can sympathize! Similar situation with me, I have no idea how I lost it. I'm ususally so careful with my jewelry, but was feeling really distracted and stressed that day. Mine wasn't insured, either. I keep thinking it will pop-up in some strange place. In the meanwhile, I'm going to follow @jellyv and @Moxisox 's suggestions. Tommorrow I'll be checking in my floor registers and under all large appliances, as I hadn't thought to look in either of those areas.

I'm hoping you find yours, sending my best wishes! Keep us posted! :flowers:
Ty and Good luck!! I hope you find it. xoxo

That really sucks. I lost a ring too but eventually found it in a hidden pouch in one of my makeup bags. I would definitely look in your bags and keep looking before you repurchase. If you still can’t get it, I would repurchase and maybe sell something if possible to offset the cost.
Yes trust me, I am looking for more stuff to sell! lol

I know! :amazed: @skyqueen 's story gives me hope that both of us will still find our rings!
We will find our rings and post modeling pics! :)

So sorry to hear your story. I lost my JUC ring about a week after purchasing it. I went on a picnic at a park and at night, no ring on my finger… I went back to the park and searched everywhere - the lawn, toilets and even my husband went through the park rubbish bins. We came home thinking it’s gone - someone might have picked it up already (that park was full of people).. and then I opened our picnic bag to unpack and at the very bottom was my ring I was so happy - did a little dance haha
Anyway I really hope you find your ring soon!! Wish you all the luck !!

YAY! So happy it was not lost.

I have two small LOVE pave bracelets. I thought I had lost one for about a year. This is when a loved one was ill and we had housecleaners and caregivers and handymen come in and out of the house all the time. But I really thought I was cautious about my jewelry because I usually don't leave my jewelry out in the open.

At last, I found it in the safe. I knew I'd kept it safe. But I think I have a serious case of brain fog because I couldn't remember the act of putting it in the safe. Can you believe!

We looked soo hard! I mean we looked inch by inch in the house. Flashlights, vacuums, dumpsters, drains.
It has been 2 weeks. I pray one day it turns up, but so far nada.
The good part is my sa says I can return if we find it. I think she would give me a few months after the new purchase. IDK. I hate to pay 16k for the pave love ring.
Did you look in the laundry?
In every single pocket and cuff?

@sjunky13 I’m so sorry this happened to you!! I know that feeling of panic and stomach twisting as you search for your ring.. Many others have suggested this but I wanted to share my experiences in case you haven’t checked already. One time I was washing my hands and totally didn’t realize my ring had slipped off with the paper towel and I threw it in the trash of a public restroom. I realized it maybe 5-10 minutes later and luckily it was still in the trash in the crumpled paper towel.

Another time I accidentally threw away a pair of small diamond earrings since I put them on top of a semi crumpled tissue, and for some reason mindlessly crumpled it up while I was cleaning and threw it in the trash. Realized it later on that night and went through every single garbage bin separating out every single tissue (yes, gross) but found it that way.

More recently I was distracted and took my rings off and put them in my sweater pockets to wash the dishes and forgot about them completely, only to panic about an hour later since I’d completely forgotten where I put them. After looking at the usual suspect places I put my ring down to do dishes at I remembered to check the clothes I was wearing and it was in the pockets. I usually never put my rings in sweater pockets, so I didn’t think to check there first. Perhaps you could’ve been distracted and put the ring away somewhere you don’t usually do and forgot about it. I’m hoping it’ll turn up somewhere in your home!! Meanwhile check all items of clothing with pockets just in case? And any pouches it could’ve slipped in. Perhaps drawers too in case it slipped out while you were going through your clothes.

Another place that could be a suspect place is your sink drain, I’ve dropped a pair of earrings into it before and luckily because of the S shaped pipe it didn’t get drained to the sewage. Check your drains if you’re able to!

The suggestions to check your cars in all their little nooks and crannies is a good idea as well since they have many places a ring can hide in. I secretly wish all items can come with a built-in tracker for times like these. Please keep us updated!!

Hi Guys, I just purchased a Cartier pave love ring last month. It was stunning. I made a post recently and was so happy to have it.
I bought it on my wedding anniversary and was planning to wear it as a wedding ring .

Well I lost it. YUP. I am so mad at myself, it was not insured .
I wore it before I could insure it and I lost it. I don't know it I left it in a restroom somewhere or it was accidently thrown away. My husband and I turned the house inside out looking for it. I have the rest of the jewelry I wore and I honestly have no clue what happened to it. I do not remember taking it off at all. Very odd.

Should I repurchase it? With tax it was 8k. I had been saving to add the pave JUC ring and some other jewelry and if I rebuy it would cut into that. My sa says I can return it if we find the original.
I have been upset since I lost it.
I just inspired a friend to buy the same ring. She bought it and it looks great on her. In can't even look at her insta lol. I want my ring back!!
I hate that I would be spending 2 times for the one ring. My husband says to do what I want. The extra money is stupid tax for being not responsible.

I don't have unlimited funds and what I have is it for jewelry for the next few years. Ugh. I have no many things on my Wishlist and if I buy this, then one has to go.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? I know I should have insured it before wearing. I have beat myself up for 2 weeks now.
Oh man I remember talking to you about it!! I hope you find it. Praying hard for you as it’s such a beautiful piece. Don’t buy another…just keep looking. I’m sure it will turn up!!

Hahaha. You're the queen of "trashing" your jewelry. I have a problem with tissues too. When I'm in not so desirable locations, I usually take off my jewelry and wrap it with tissue paper. They are usually found later in pockets of my handbags.

And to the OP, no. I would not purchase another replacement ring so soon. I wish you luck finding the original soon.

I know, it’s really embarrassing how many times it’s happened. But I find consolation in that I’ve at least managed to recover them so I’m hoping others might try looking in their trash where they least suspect it because it can totally happen! You have good sensibility to put them in pockets of your bags, as a general rule now I try to not take off my jewelry and put them down unless it’s in their designated spots (like jewelry dish bowl, pouch, organizer, etc.) since I can be very forgetful otherwise.

It really sucks to lose anything, especially a very meaningful and expensive jewelry piece. I hope it turns up soon for OP

Ty all for the posts. I am having trouble multi quoting!
I am so happy those of you who lost jewelry have found it. Who knows, maybe my ring will turn up.
I hope it was not thrown away. The night it got lost we took hope take away and threw out a lot of trash!
