So sorry to hear your story. I lost my JUC ring about a week after purchasing it. I went on a picnic at a park and at night, no ring on my finger… I went back to the park and searched everywhere - the lawn, toilets and even my husband went through the park rubbish bins. We came home thinking it’s gone - someone might have picked it up already (that park was full of people).. and then I opened our picnic bag to unpack and at the very bottom was my ring I was so happy - did a little dance haha
Anyway I really hope you find your ring soon!! Wish you all the luck !!

I would call your homeowners insurance and get reimbursed.

I lost my wedding ring about 2 years after we got married, and I immediately called my insurance company and they sent me a check not long thereafter. Obviously, I had to file a claim, but once they saw that it was clearly lost, they reimbursed me for it.

I'm sorry to hear this, but definitely call your insurance company. Good luck!

EDIT: Just saw that you already contacted your insurance company. I'm so sorry it isn't covered.

Did you check your cars as well? I take my rings off if something drops between the seat and console, which just puts the rings in a precarious position.

Outside of finding it, I wouldn't re-buy it, at least not yet. I've done that, then never wear it as it becomes this cycle of me getting agitated for losing it, then putting it away, then wearing it again and now being agitated I lost it and haven't gotten use out of it, then putting it away, etc. and I don't want to do anything with it because I paid for it twice. Move on with your wish list and once you're finished with that, if you still want it, then consider purchasing it again. If you really want it, you'll wind up prioritizing it on your wish list, but usually I get too distracted with my other pieces, it falls off.

Last fall my boys were cleaning the leaves .Long story short my husbands ring was missing. Secretary I was kinda not upset for after 32 years I’m clearly up for a upgrade:biggrin:. Anyhow boys showed up with metal detector and , would you know it in one of that bags …… there it was. Without detector there was no way the ring would be ever found. ( I’m getting us upgraded this anniversary , he doesn’t know) good luck, it’s still possible to find it.

Agree, check your car. I recently posted this story on another thread when someone recently lost their ring as well.
Years ago, I had lost my JUC ring in my car while driving and pushing buttons. I could not find it even though I know I felt it slip off my finger. It was my husband who found it after taking out a couple floorboards around my seat. It someone make its way underneath there. I was driving a prius at the time and my husband said that Japanese cars tend to have a lot plastic and removable parts, so he wasn't too surprised it was down there.

So sorry that it was lost; I hope you find it! I agree with the others that I would not replace it so soon. I'd wait for a good while.

If at the end of the day it is really lost, you can buy it again, but only if you really really really want it.
For some people, buying a piece that was lost or stolen may just remind them of what happened and may leave a bad taste in their mouth.

Ugh, this stinks, I'm so sorry.
I think you should repurchase if it won't bother you, meaning you aren't going to look at the ring and think about how you lost it and then repurchased ($$$). Only repurchase if it's going to bring you joy. I hope that makes sense (it does in my head, lol).
I would give it a little more time and see if it somehow turns up and time also gives you a chance to think about re-purchasing.
Sending good vibes your way...

Have you checked pockets on any clothing you have worn ? I lost a ring that was really sentimental to me and i was sure i hadn't taken it off. It was in a pocket in my trousers. No idea what happened if it fell off or i took it off and put it there

Miracles do happen! Years ago I lost an expensive Michael Bondanza diamond locket. I had my son’s picture inside and absolutely loved it. I went to put it on, one day, and couldn’t find it. I saw my son with it one time, he was a toddler at the time, so I thought he may have hidden/lost it. I ripped the house, car, outside the house apart. Totally heartbroken! Luckily it was insured. I was so upset I didn’t buy it again. Fast forward 12 years…my wonderful thoroughbred had to be put down. I was beside my self with grief! I buried him in my backyard as I have a lot of land. Quite a job…you have to dig a deep hole. The next spring my ex-husband was doing something in the yard and saw a yellow chain coming out of the ground. Sure enough, he dug deeper and there was my locket. Banged up but all the little diamonds intact and my son’s picture still inside. Sent it back to my jeweler who restored it, beautifully, and monogrammed the front. It truly was a miracle and I still enjoying wearing it!
I believe my beloved thoroughbred had something to do with this story…a sign ❤️

I am surprised to hear that your homeowner's insurance won't cover it, TBH. I know that you typically need to itemize but.. anyway.

Is there anything in your current collection which you do not wear that you would consider selling to help ease the cost of replacement?

Hi lovelies!
Ty so much for your advice, suggestions and good vibes!
Yes sadly insurances doesn't cover, nor Amex.
I am going to Cartier this week , am buying a few wishlist items.
The reason I wanted to repurchases the ring was because I bought it on our anniversary and it was to be my wedding band.
If it were earrings or just another ring, I would not even think of buying another. I think I will hold off for now and just buy the other items. :)
