My recent SO Kelly 20 stolen

I am so so sorry.

The Met police were very good and worked with me when I had all my Christmas shopping stolen a few years ago (eBay - where I found a lot of the stuff, were terrible) I would not want to revisit that. The Met officer assigned worked with me all through the holidays and took everything very seriously. YOU will have to to all the detective work though, but if fruitful, your research may give them options.

In my case I had a unique product from another brand that had to be MTO. An SO is practically a fingerprint, especially ostrich with it's unique placement of markings. You may want to contact UK resellers, including auction houses in the UK, they will not want to be dealing with stolen goods and keep databases, let them know the PO name and number you're dealing with (when they give you one). Keep checking all listings, every permutation on word-search. I would also let H know JIC, one day that bag will resurface.
Thank you so much. This is so helpful. I think being so unique it is bound to appear somewhere. I hope the Met help me. I am still in disbelief how in such a ‘safe and security’ place this could happen.

What did the police say by now? Do they have any digital investigators? It is such a distinctive handbag that I imagine that it would be impossible to sell. You've taken good pictures of it and that will be helpful to locate the bag! So sorry to hear that it happened to you.

Thanks for asking. H is working on notifying stores and their network. Police has not come to me and only will come tomorrow. I’m hoping for more info this week to come.

Dear lovely members,

I hope I can find some support and help. My recent SO Kelly ostrich 20 in PHW was stolen from my home. The person who did it(I suspect someone I thought I could trust) or people (perhaps the security insider person) knew exactly the cost of the bag as there were other bags and knew that the mini Kelly is easier to conceal from the cameras.
I think this happened between last Sunday and this Sunday. I don’t have a date as the person or people knew I was working really busy and brutal hospital shifts. I am really really sad especially as in the UK I have not been able to reach the police (non emergency) this whole day and instead am doing it online. It doesn’t seem like there is much help and it feels rather horrible. If anyone could help me in terms of letting me know where my bag might be posted or if you see her online, please please contact me. Any support is much needed at this time.
At the end of the day, I hugged my cat and loved ones. I know it is material possession and this bag for me with a symbol of a lot of psychologically achievements.

Sorry to hear about this. May you recover your purse. I hope the cops are able to find the one responsible for this and may justice be served.

Wow, that is horrible. If they are a sophisticated thief and really know how much its worth they are likely to go thru one of the online consignment shops to get the most $$. And with it being very unique I would definitely reach out to the major online ones in the UK (In the US it is Fashionphile, Yoogis Closet, The Real Real) via email and alert them to the stolen bag right away should they receive a submission. In the US re-selling a stolen good is very serious and the seller is responsible for reimbursing the rightful owner if they do sell a stolen bag. No company is taking that risk at least in the US. Good luck

Eh, most of these companies make the person selling the bag sign a contract saying they are the lawful owner of the item they are selling. Then the company claims innocence in the resale and the victim is SOL. There was a post, in the Chanel forum I think, where a tpfer was forced to buy her own stolen items back from fashionphile at the price they had paid to the thief or else FP would continue to list and sell them to the public.
ETA it was in the General Shopping forum here.

Yeah unfortunately I mentioned making these sites aware of stolen goods ASAP before they receive a submission because once they do its hard to prove they were knowingly aware of stolen merchandise. Had she filed the police report and immediately emailed a copy of the report/photos/serials to their customer service emails (copy to corporate) in the weeks before she saw it on the website they wouldn't have a leg to stand on legally.

The police has been absolutely not helpful. They have little to no time to even go through CCTV (as they explained). They said if it were a ‘violent’ crime they will have more time. I took a PI firm who also deal with this cases, a lot. They will be notifying the stores making it clear and doing other things. I can’t believe I had to hire a PI to do the job of the police. H has been really helpful and supportive. They have been put on high alert and alerting stores. They said that if it appears in the SPA they will know. Yesterday the police asked me how can such a small bag cost so much and if maybe it is not lost in my place ‍♀️. I am speechless. Luckily, my DH is a lawyer so he will need to further deal with this. The worse thing is that I don’t feel safe in a place where I pay to supposedly feel safe.

Very sorry to hear this. I had my jewelry (irreplaceable vintage pieces) stolen a few years ago while traveling. I never want to revisit that time. I had the same challenge, the police (we lived in the US back then) did nothing and basically asked me to get the insurance company to reimburse me.
Can't give you any advice that hasn't already been shared by others. But sending you lots of positive thoughts. I hope something good comes out of this. :hugs:
