My purse straps wont stay on my shoulder?

There's a product that you can buy that attaches to the straps. I know ebay had them. I cannot remember what they're called but I bet if you did a search on ebay you could find them. Ergo straps or something like that, was the name.

Or you could wear a shirt like this:

Yep! They were these things:

They also come in other blobby colors like clear (really, your best bet, besides the black), blue, pink, and yellow LOL! Not pretty, but they get the job done!
Best to check your strap width well before purchasing too...

I feel like a total noob. I have always owned shoulder bags with 1 long adjustable strap so since I have being buying new bags for a little over 2 months, I have been learning how to hold the different styles. I know it sounds daft as a woman of 39 is learning how to carry a grab bag. Any way, I dont have so much the problem of slippage, more a problem of pain in the bend of my elbow where the straps have been resting. It gets really painful as Im not used to carrying a bag that way. Them gel heel pads would be great for slippage, or some of that grip stuff you buy on a roll.

Them gel heel pads - I'm from Rochdale originally so you are taking me back!
My advice for you is to carry less stuff! If it's hurting your arm, imagine what it is doing to your back.

I have this problem with my new med pelham.. its 2 rolled straps and they are not long enough to cross over. i am so heart broken about it and i have no clue what to do about it. this might be my deal breaker.

You can buy the Ergopad on Ebay....I hope it's okay that I post the link...This is NOT my auction! I wouldn't consider these to be fashionable, however they might work to keep your straps up. Timbuk2 and Ghee's also make a strap to which I have also provided the links. Admittedly, I haven't tried any of them, so I don't know how well they work.

Thank you for looking into it! But these wont work for rolled handles. The handle just doesnt even touch my shoulder. When i wear it, it looks like the picture i included. I guess i could slant the bag back a bit instead of wearing it like the picture.:shrugs:

That's one of my biggest pet peeves with purses! I'm so glad you brought this question up! Imho a well made purse shouldn't fall off all the time or hurt the shoulder when worn.

I've heard some very good suggestions here and plan to try some of them. I was also thinking about a luggage strap with those rubber indents in them. Worth a shot.

I also hate when the strap(s) are too short and it wont fit over the shoulder, especially if I'm wearing a heavy coat.

Buy Prada. They know how to design ergonomic shoulder straps. Works for me. :supacool:

I agree about the great Prada straps. I own three Pradas, all different, and those straps are legendary. But not everybody wants Prada!

I find comfy straps depend on various factors, like weight of bag, strap drop, etc. My MBMJ Aline satchel is very comfy on the shoulder. So is my D&G satchel. Very different bags, but both great.

Hi guys. First time here. :smile1:

Regarding all the comments about Prada having the best straps... I just got a Prada that has the most slippery leather strap I've ever seen. It's fairly narrow at the ends and gets wider in the middle (the worst!) and it's a stiff, slick leather.

I really like the bag (microfiber and leather, good size, very lightweight--just what I've been looking for) except for the strap. I may try one of the Ergopad things, even though it will look stupid on the strap. I'm not sure it will even fit. :wondering

I wish these designers would just stick to nice simple straps and make our lives easier. :hrmm:
