Vachetta leather will darken over time to a honey color. How dark and how fast it darkens depends on the amount of exposure to sunlight.

If you're going to keep it, I would spray it with 2-3 coats of Apple Garde before use to protect it from oils and water spots.

I wish I had gotten this in the summer! I would have her out in the sun all day long! I would just like her a little darker.

Do you think the spray would darken her?

I really love this bag. I almost got it with my PCE. I was worried it would be too small. I love the color of that leather I think it looks kind of cool when it changes too I am curious to see how these will change over time. Congrats!

Thank you!

As for size I can tell you you can NOT put an iPad inside it. You can put it in the outside pocket with a small bit showing above the dowel.

Congrats on the lovely bag!!!

LOVE your bag. I purchased the black and the natural of this bag (and my camera is LOST! If I do not find it soon, I will be forced to buy a new one!), and mine was slightly darker around the edges, too. I do not think this is the beginning of a patina, as the edges were slightly darker under the flap, too, where there would be no exposure to... well, anything prior to purchase. So I think that is intended.

It looks fabulous on you, and I completely agree about not wearing it up under the arm; it is not comfortable that way for me, either. A knot in the top of the strap (with a little loop sticking out the top) is a handy way to shorten the strap, although it certainly is not as polished as having a cobbler shorten it. But it does give you the option of wearing it cross-body if you ever choose to do that. I will likely have the strap shortened as I never wear ANYTHING cross body!

Congratulations on your purchase!
