I just called Coach about this and they have no clue what I am talking about. They literally told me that your bag may be a fake to take mine into a Coach store to have them look at it. Useless.
To be honest with you it was probably just a feature they added from the "pilot" piece to the actual "mass" produced one if you will. Hopefully this helps. Yours isn't fake.

ok, that's all my pictures!

I am very aware of how light she is and it scares me!!

If I carry her over the shoulder with the long strap she is rubbing on my jeans. I would love to have the long strap shortened a bit so she rides higher on my hip. I wish I could carry her under my arm, hobo style.

Maybe I can get my boyfriend to take some modeling shots...

Don't worry, just spray.

I bought the Caroline Vachetta against my better judgement because i thought I knew I would get it dirty. I put three heavy coats of Apple Spray.

So far, I've gotten ink on it (my hand was stamped, and the ink ran) and I got raspberry sauce on it. Both wiped right off with a Magic eraser ( I think water would a have taken them off too) and today I got caught in the pouring rain. It dried with out a mark. I throw it on everywhere and it's been a trooper.

I think the ink that got on it would be like a color transfer.

It's coming through with flying style. It's gotten a darker, not much that much though. I have no idea how it takes to darken, but it's going in that direction. I've has it about a month and it's my favorite bag right now.

But I've been shocked at how durable it is now. I was so anxious about spraying it, but I read you can spray it, so I figured I'd try.

Galaxygrrl, your post about Apple is what made me lean more towards the natural color!

I had earlier found a vachetta Caroline at Macy's that looked like someone spilled coffee on it and then returned it. Then I read your post about spraying and not having issues with stains. That's when I knew I could get the natural. I have one can of spray left and I'm going to empty that sucker on this bag! LOL!

Love it! I really think the spray will keep these baby's looking great!
Hello. I'm wondering if you sprayed your Willis Vachetta and how it worked out now that a couple of weeks have passed. Was the Apple spray ok? Any advice for how best to apply it?

You have no idea how much I studied this thread. Thanks for starting it. I was going to get the black Willis but your pics made me fall in love with the tan one instead! I really hope I can take care of it properly.

I haven't sprayed it yet. I haven't carried it either. I honestly hope it gets a little darker. I have one can of apple and one can of the Kiwi spray. I think I will use the Kiwi when I get to spraying her.

I think what keeps me from doing anything yet is because I am not sure about not being able to use a short strap over the shoulder. I really like carrying bags on the shoulder!

I will post when I do spray!

I love the vachetta. I bought the vachetta Caroline dowel (70th anniversary) bag and I just adore her. One of my favorite Coach bags to date, most definitely. She's still in her "natural" state and hasn't started to patina yet, but I can't wait till she does. I think it's a cool concept. p.s. Be wary of color transfer; vachetta is susceptible to it.

Hi, Worldswirl! I love this bag, too!!! But it seems that coach.com no longer carries it. Where did you see it cuz you said you were going to get it? TIA:p

My boyfriend called and ordered it for me last week. It was website at the time but he wasn't able to order it from there.

Just wanted to update that I ended up returning this bag. I could not carry it on my shoulder with the short strap and that's what made me change my mind. I loved everything else about this bag but that ended up being the deal breaker :(
