I have the exact same bag, needs to have the bottom replaced so thank you for this info!! Do I just take it into the LV store and ask them about it, or do I have to call them? TIA for any info you can give me.

I'll probably have the leather straps get replaced in few years[emoji6]

When you get things repaired, especially with the mono's that have vachetta letter, would you have all the vachetta replaced? Otherwise it'd be mismatched? hmmmmm

Yes I understand what you mean but sometimes replacing all the leather can get too expensive. And I just really want the bag to be usable especially the monogram canvas is in superb condition[emoji6]
The newer leather will darken in time too so it will not too mismatched but I am okay with it specially the darker leather are mostly at the back of the bag[emoji4]

wow it's amazing! I am waiting for my Montsouris MM, I need to wait for 6 weeks (est 6-8weeks) can't waiiiit. [emoji7] Mine has 20 years old and the smell is so so bad like cigars, do you think they can get rid of the smell on my bag too? tia!

I just dropped my '96 Montsouris GM off 2 days ago to get the bottom leather replaced. It wasn't in awful condition but there was a tiny crack developing in the corner of the leather through the stitches and I was afraid that it may damage the canvas underneath eventually, crack more or LV would stop doing repairs on this bag all together since the newer backpacks don't have all vachetta bottoms and I would be out of luck when I was totally ready.
Ur bag looks fantastic! They did a great job. I agree with not removing the date code. This bag is bigger than the bosphore, and the opening is much wider. It is a better made bag and better value imo than the bosphore.
