I looked through all 41 pages non stopping, your writing just keep me wanting to read and read forever (=

pltprincess - pls pls if you have the time post more pics of your LVs in your journeys! Your LV snapshots dialogs are so inspiring and so gorgeous...can't wait for new entries on your thread!! I absolute love your Cabas Raye GM in your Avator....I missed out on that one and I regret it ever since...
Have a great day!

I have the Pegase 60 and I do always use it as carry-on. It fits perfectly in the overhead bin.

Using the Eagle Creek packing cubes, I can easily pack 5-6 days in it. Although with very, very strategic packing, I managed an 8 day trip in it once! Mine is well used and well loved. I highly recommend it.

Dear pltprincess,

I am glad I stumbled upon this thread. I am especially excited to see your avatar of the LE Cabas Raye GM as I too had the same bag and it was my 2nd LE bag from LV! It is a weighty bag but nevertheless I love it just the same.

I love your eloquent writing and especially the tastefully taken pictures of your wonderful collection, some of which I didn't know that LV even had them! I especially enjoy the different but tasteful angle of the pictures you have taken. I know the canon G9 is old model and now I have just discovered the canon G12 and will be getting one soon.:yahoo:

I just can't compliment enough. You are such an inspiration and had me falling head over heels with the LV speedy 40....must get one soon! Thank you for sharing your wonderful collection.

Btw, could you also share with us on how you manage to pack 5-6 days into a Pegase 60? If it is not too much trouble that is.

Thanks again for starting this wonderful thread and had me loving my LV babies all over again. You are truly and inspirational icon to me. :hugs:

Apologies in advance for the lengthy answer but it is a bit tougher to explain this via the written word than one would think.

While it took quite a bit of trial and error, it was by necessity that I perfected my packing technique. I use the Eagle Creek packing cubes in a variety of sizes which allows me to both compress the clothing and utilize every square inch of the suitcase effectively. The Pegase 60 holds two layers of these cubes nicely.

Below is a picture of a few pieces of the bottom layer inside of the suitcase. The large black cube contains two dresses, two pairs of slacks and a pair of jeans. The large green cube has two shirts and two turtleneck sweater. This along with what I wear on the plane, gives me six complete outfits but I can mix-and-match for variety or if delayed.

Smaller cubes are used to hold sleepwear, lingerie, and other items. All my toiletries are put into small leakproof containers and fit in the requisite ziplock bag which is put inside one of the cubes on the top layer for easy access. In addition, I squeeze in a pair of flat shoes (note - there's just enough give in the sides of the suitcase to accomplish this along with to the cubes). Lastly, I top my layers of cubes with Big Lou, my Speedy 40, flattened down, so the I have a purse large enough for everything while in country.

In addition to packed items, I dress strategically for travel days as what I wear is also counted in the inventory of weekly wear. I generally combine a nice shirt with a light sweater and jeans along with high heels and carry a coat over my arm. (Note - high heels are needed for work but don't pack well with the cubes and are worn by default.)

In separate tote, the Tadao, which sits on top of Pegase to be rolled, is my laptop, electronics and work needs along with my Eva that holds a wallet, travel documents, and jewelry. Of course, lots of LV SLGs help out as well - business card holder, key & change holder, passport cover, Okapi for camera, Wapity for cords/plugs/earbuds and Milla for iPhone.

(Side note - Eva can either be tossed in Big Lou or used alone and worn under my coat for extra security during outings at night.)

That's it! With a little practice, I was able to fly off to a different country every Sunday afternoon and back late Friday nights with just carry-ons. I could travel with my beloved LV without worrying about it being out of my sight. Combining my two favorite things - LV and travel - what could be better?!

Dear pltprincess,

Thanks so much for your reply. I am so grateful that you took the time to explain the process to me so concisely and clearly (not to mention with picture too!) You are truly my hero! Although, I travel quite a bit but it is always the packing that I dread....so much thinking to do....LOL! Now, you have me see it in a new light and can't wait for my next trip. I am so gonna get myself a pegase and travel in style! :yahoo:

Thanks again for inspiring me and all of us here and keep the great pictures and writing coming. I can never get enough of this thread....pictures, writing and all.....

ps: your GD is a gem and cutie....please give her a hug for me.;)

The perfect pocket for my beloved new iPhone 4! With its microfiber lining, this piece provides a soft cradle to completely encase and protect my electronic toy while allowing me to either easily hand carry it alone or attach it to the D-ring in a purse to facilitate fishing it out when needed.

(LOL ... too bad I didn't have this two days earlier when I dropped the phone on a tile floor and dinged the corner. I've taken to calling it a 'dimple' to put a positive spin on it. BTW, the glass back and front survived the 4 ft drop undamaged - yeah!)

Lucky the screen didn't shatter! When i went to fix my iPhone 4 some man dropped his on tile and the whole screen shattered! I felt his pain!!

I had dreamed of purchasing LV luggage for 20 years. And now, with the means to do more than just dream, I have finally begun to acquire.

pltprincess - Your first post in this thread brought tears to my eyes. Coming from an average income family, I had been wishing to own an LV since I was 25 but it took me 12 years to achieve my dream. Your 20 year old dream was fulfilled in such an awesome way. Congrats to you. Needless to say, I would love to own more pieces and reading your post has inspired me soooo much....

Thank you for sharing your journey, your family and your love of LV with all of us. This is truly one of the best thread in this forum.:hugs:
