I have a white Birkin and know all about the side cracks... even after the spa.

Leather can always have cracks if abused or old....
Couldn’t agree more. It’s a shame but I’ve lost quite a sum sending their poorly described items back (via Express and insured of course) and I am not willing to accept this hassle anymore, so they’ve lost me as a customer. When I see threads like this (I know of another member having similar issues), I am affirmed in my decision. However, I’d rather disclose and add proper pictures instead of having to pack, unpack and relist over and over again when an item gets returned.
OP - I actually accidentally voted yes the first time before I changed it to no when I realized I chose the wrong answer. It’s because I read the title of the post - “would you return it” - and was like “oh yes I would return it” before I realized that the poll was the other way “would you keep it”. Maybe that also happened to those who voted yes...

I think when they say carried open for the Birkin they just meant that the flap is open but you are carrying both handles (and not just the back one) and therefore distributing the weight on both sides...versus the Kelly where the front side will sag down

Hi there,
To my eyes this is just the edge material which is cracked, its pretty typical on the white bags to have this happen. Not a major repair in my opinion ... needs to have the French Edging material removed and reapplied. For some reason the white edging material is always thicker applied to get good coverage and its more plastic-like it doesn't flex as well as some of the other more common colors... so it does then to crack, yellow and peel off... its just a thing. Cool bag its hard to find a white these days...

Thanks so much for your answer! Do you know anybody in Europe you can recommend to fix this? How much you think this would cost? Also if this would be worn without fixing would it cause bigger damage? I still think to return it but would like to here your opinion

Def not doc, but if you are in Europe you could go to restory, they are based in London.
Try Bag Repairs London @bagrepairslondon.com 0207 581 3757 or 07944448477 they're based in South Kensington I prefer them to restory imho
Trust @docride 100% and depending on your desire to fiddle or not with a project, pls keep all of us updated as to whatever you decide! fingers crossed for you 
Why don't you take it Hermes (if you keep it) it can be cheaper than these other places. Once you take it elsewhere (if they detect) H won't touch it ever again.
On the bright side, that would also be the 100% authentication....
I would need to travel to a different country as no H in mine
