The Vert D'eau is a fake. My White GGH Day is real. It was purchased from a PFer and I took it in to Barneys after getting the Vert D'eau and it matches exactly with the ones they have.

As I said before, I cannot post more pictures of the Vert D'eau bag. It is on its way back to California. I am 99.9% positive that it was made by NewBagFactory - and if you want more information on them there is a thread on TFS that will tell you all about them. I have a friend who bought one of their fake Vert D'eau GGH Days and it had exactly these same problems. I checked her pictures for comparison.

Before I came here, I had a few of their bags myself, which I'm not proud to admit. The leather on them was fantastic and they are as close to real Balenciaga as you'll get from a counterfeit, but they are most definitely fake bags. My bags now are all authentic, and one of the things about having owned a few fakes is that you learn what they look like and the differences between those bags and the authentics.

I'm sorry, I don't want to come across as rude, but I did my homework here and I'm not very pleased with the suggestions that maybe my White Day is the fake or that I have to somehow "prove" that it is real before the other bag can be accepted as fake.

:sweatdrop:So sorry Chesire for causing a stir.............

I was not aware of NBF and their bags.

I had never seen such a counterfeit.....

Please accept apologies..........:shame:

^chesh, no offense is intended by anyone. It's just that we could see the leather tag on the VD and not on the White, so it was just a way of closing the loop since we don't have all the data you had. And as much as I personally believe you did your homework and you know what you're talking about, we still like visuals. If you leave out some pics, you can expect a flurry of questions to enable examination from every angle. Perhaps a whole community of eyes can pick out some more discrepancies that a single person wouldn't.

Although the side by side pics you posted were invaluable and clearly showed discrepancies, those particular discrepancies are most apparent in a comparative context, and not as easily when viewing a standalone bag. For example, I won't necessarily be able to tell whether the ring is too big or the pocket zipper too short when it's not photographed next to the real thing. So additional pics would have allowed us to see if there was anything else, no matter how slight or subtle, that we could use to pick out a fake more easily.

Also, most of us have our authentication skills questioned regularly. I was recently called petulant and self-important:shame:. That there is any suggestion you may have missed something about the White Day is not meant personally and indeed was intended to help you. You may recall RDC and I both posted full side by side comparisons of superfakes next to authentics, not because we need to prove credibility, but to show that all bases were covered and to educate by demonstration.

Looking back, I wish I had taken pictures of the tag, but I still think it would be very easy to root out a fake. The big giveaway is that zipper extension, which is literally three to four inches longer than on authentic bags. If you ask for a picture of that and then look at a photo of a bag you know to be authentic, I think that will answer it for you.

Since I was positive the bag was not authentic I did not feel the need to take a bunch of other pictures once the seller agreed to refund my money (which, I should point out, she did this morning very graciously). If I had thought about the fact that it would help some of you, I definitely would have done it, but I just wasn't thinking about it that way.

So, anyway, I hope I didn't sound like a total b*tch, I just got upset when I read the comments about the White Day.

My very, very sincere apologies if I came across as militant or hurt anyone's feelings. :flowers:

It is a NBF, its just sad that it was being passed off as real.
But isn't that the whole point of NBF, to pass a bag off as real? If there was no intent to pass the fakes off as real, then NBF would have incorporated a marker to identify its products and avoid consumer confusion and fraud, something as simple as a certain serial number or tiny NBF stamped into an interior tag or something. But slavishly copying every detail of the real deal means intent to pass off as the real deal. There's no way around this.

PS - I would suggest keeping tabs on the replica bags thread on TFS - I am definitely going to from now on. They announce what new colours and styles NBF will be making, and that could help you know which styles and colours to look at more carefully when considering an auction. That's my new plan!

Their bags are good, no doubt about it, but there are still giveaways if you know what to look for - which was my intention in creating this thread.

And now I'm spooked about this whole NBF thing .

do you have a link to this^^? Scary!
Sorry about your bag and glad it is being resolved!

Sorry, I dont normally post here. As I do not have a real balenciaga. I lurk alot to see the beautiful bags. I do come from tpf. and do own a nbf. it looks just like this one. I bought it to try out the style. we dont have anywhere here that sells authentics, and im a starving student. I just wanted to agree with cheshire that the vert was definatly the fake. I do regret now buying into the black market bags. I am saving up for a real bag. I would never try to sell mine as real though. i totally dont agree with that.
