My A+ experience buying from ELady!

We kind of had the same experience. Ordered a Keepall and received an email the next day that the order had to be cancelled due to a mishap in shipping where the bag had become damaged. Just didn't seem to ring true on a gut level.

So we ordered another bag at twice the price but of interest the pictures shown were the Elady old style where a the final shot of a mannequin was shown (this purchase went very smooth and bag was in excellent condition). As others have noted it appears Elady has gone from a solo consignment shop to more of a marketplace. Sadly that could be the downfall of an excellent supplier.
I have to be honest, I think the only reason why they didn't want to sell it to me was because I got it at a really good price and the vendor didn't like the final cost. I was using a VIP coupon, so there was a further discount on top of the 8 percent discount sitewide.

But anyway, the main thing that irritates me is that the product wasn't even in eLady's hands. I wasn't at all aware that they transformed from a standard consignment into a marketplace, like Malleries or Vestiare Collective. Personally I no longer feel comfortable buying from them when they don't have any control of what is on their website.

The only thing I can positively say is that they automatically refunded me. So there is that.

I don't like to advise people to not shop there since this is just my experience alone, but for anyone who is interested in buying from them, be aware that what is shown on the website may not be consistent with what is actually at hand and whether the vendor they are listing for is willing to part with the item at the price listed.

BTW, I did purchase a Special Order Damier Ebene Bucket (came with tags and dustbag) almost 2 years ago from them and the transaction was flawless. The bag looked as if it was never used and I was ecstatic about it.

Unfortunately I can no longer vouch for them if they're going the marketplace route. I'm really disappointed.

Bingo!!! Exactly what the Mrs. and I thought. We received the same VIP coupon and was one of the reasons she was motivated to pull the trigger. The bag had a listing of A/B and for the price (after spending so much time reviewing pictures on our part) was a good deal. As you commented she felt the same way in the seller (who we thought was Elady) felt like it was too good of a bargain after the percentage off. So instead of getting a similar condition 45 Keepall at around $500 we upped the price to over $800 and got a 45 bandoliere instead. Turned out she was happier with the bandoliere but that's not the point.

Interesting. After I sent them an email accusing them of lying to me that the bag I bought "was no longer available" and that I don't wish to buy from their site anymore I noticed that they now list ship times for the items listed (re: "ready to ship" and "ship within 3-5 days").

I'm sure that other people complained about losing out on bags like I did and this website change had nothing to do with my email, but still, that's just a little more transparency than what they had previously.

I don't plan on buying any more bags from eLady. I bought one a few weeks ago from another vendor on their site. (I assumed because there was less information about the bag, fewer pictures, and no final picture of the mannequin as eLady usually does.) It didn't mention anything about stains on the strap, but when I received it, the strap was heavily stained. It also took forever to ship and when I complained about it, she said it was located somewhere else. Then I saw they started listing the ship times on each product, so maybe a lot of people were complaining? It's too bad because it used to be a great site that I absolutely trusted.

Ugh, that's terrible; sorry about your experience. Are you able to return it???

I do NOT recommend this company at all. Two times in a row, after purchasing an item from them at a good price through their website, they cancel my order and refund the money, sending me THE SAME email. First purchase, October 2017, an LV at a great price, second purchase, today, February 2018, a Gucci at an amazing price.
BOTH times, they sent this same email:

Dear (Diedra),
Thank you for your order.

We are contacting you regarding the item you purchased.

We deeply regret to inform you that our logistics center let us know the item you purchased from us was found to be damaged while preparing it for shipment and we had to return it to the original owner, based on their policy. We are very sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience it may cause you.

We instructed our financial department to send a refund. Please check your PayPal account at your convenience. If you paid with a credit card it may take a few days for the refund to show."[/QUOTE]

Thank you very much for your kind understanding.
Kind regards,

It looks like they just copy and paste the same response each time the price is too good. They are a waste of time. And if you use your discount code on such an item, your code is lost, they don't offer you a new one.

Thanks for the update. Almost bit on their current (supposed VIP) 10% offer.

If anyone who lives in Canada has purchased from elady would you mind disclosing if you paid duty and if so how much? I'm trying to figure out if u buy a purse priced at $837 usd how much duty I'll be on the hook for?
Did you end up making a purchase? If so what did your duty end up being? Thanks in advance

$1100, didnt get taxed!
For those who purchased from elady -- would you mind disclosing the amount you paid for and also if you had to pay for taxes or not? For example - $300 bag, no customs tax. Or $1200 + $80 customs tax? Would be helpful to know the range that the post applies taxes on, and also the percentage of the tax. Many thanks in advance!
yes please and also what country your shipping to.

I want to reveal my first ever preloved LV purchase as well as provide a detailed review of my experience purchasing a preloved item from the Japanense seller eLady (AKA elady01 on eBay). I have watched numerous videos and read many posts on TPF about the Eva clutch and knew this was the versatile crossbody/clutch/minibag I was looking for. With the recent price increases, I considered buying preloved and I had such a positive experience. I found a beautiful Eva Clutch in Mono on eLady’s website at http://global.elady.com/. It was the only Eva with an “A” rating currently on her site and the bag was Made in France (just a plus!). I had a few questions about the bag and received a friendly e-mail response back from eLady within 24 hours.

I posted a thread to the LV shopping forum on others’ experiences buying from eLady and they were very positive, but most people purchased via eBay auctions rather than directly from her website. Her prices are 10% lower buying directly from her website (probably to account for her saving on eBay seller commissions). I would also get an additional 5% savings because I was a new buyer. I had the bag authenticated on TPF before purchasing and got the thumbs up.

I was still hesitant to buy directly from the seller’s website because I felt I may have more buyer protection buying through eBay. I called PayPal prior to purchasing the bag to inquire about buyer protection. PayPal ensured me that I had full buyer protection buying outside of eBay as long as I was purchasing a good (not a service) and I paid in one single payment (rather than paying in installments). This provided some comfort and pushed me to pull the trigger. I purchased the bag on a Monday evening (California time) and received a tracking e-mail from eLady by Tuesday morning. The bag was shipping via EMS Japan Post shipping service. I tracked the package over the next few days and saw it had arrived in customs in San Francisco. It was released within 12 hours and was on its way to my rural post office. I got a call from my PO on Friday morning of the same week telling me I had a package from Japan ready to pick up but needed to be signed for. I was glad to hear it was not dropped off at my doorstep.

A side note about duties: I read many posts on TPF regarding duties on purchases from Japan and wasn’t sure what to expect, and I figured I may be charged nearly 10% of the bag’s value, so I had to take that into consideration when figuring the overall cost of this item vs. buying new. It sounds like everyone has a different experience and being assessed duties are hit and miss. I was not assessed a duty and my bag was over the $200 threshold for purchases from Japan to the US. I’ve read that purchases shipped via EMS are less likely to be assessed a duty and that shipments via FedEx/UPS/etc. are more likely.

The bag was neatly packaged and protected well. And the best part…the bag was better than described. I had copied the photos from eLady’s website as well as the eBay auction and saved them to my computer to compare to the actual bag so I could ensure I received the described item. They must have a very high-powered camera because the flaws they noted were so hard to see, I had to examine it in full sunlight to see them. I did confirm that the bag was the one they described but the flaws were significantly less than what they rated. My bag smells absolutely AMAZING! I know some are concerned about the smell of preloved bags from Japan. I noticed some of eLady’s listings noted if the bag had a slight smell, but mine didn’t mention smell at all (therefore I assumed there was none). I feel that eLady underrates the condition of their bags based on this experience, which makes me feel very confident with my future purchases with them. I will definitely buy from them again!

Thank you to all of the TPF members who shared their positive experiences with eLady. They gave me the confidence to buy this bag and I couldn’t be happier. I hope this review helps other members if they are deciding to buy from eLady’s website directly (or her eBay auctions). You won’t be disappointed!

My Eva!!

i realize this is an old post, but it's very relevant to me at this time as I just purchased an Eva monogram from eLady's direct website. I did some research on eLady first and that's how I came across this post on TPS. I'm so glad you had a positive experience and all the other comments with respect to your post made me feel confident to go ahead with my purchase. My bag is listed as SA condition which I understand means 'like new' so I am thrilled about that. The only downside is that it doesn't come with a dust bag. I've found some for sale on ebay but I'm ot sure what the right size would be for the Eva clutch. Was wondering if there is any chance you might share the measurements of your Eva dust bag?

Hi being an old thread, you may have a better chance in getting a faster answer on the Eva clubhouse thread .

Bought a vanilla epi St Tropez from elady a few weeks ago - shipped fast, packaged nicely, bag is in great condition. It only cost $170 and even though I've never cared too much for the St Tropez I just could not pass it up, especially in vanilla as I love that color!
Hello,
I know this is an old post, but would appreciate if you can tell me what fits in the st. Tropez. I’m looking at something locally sold, but unsure if it will fit daily essentials bec the width says its only an thick thick. Thank you very much!
