John Lewis in Bristol had Mabel yesterday and the mini Mabel which I actually liked more than the standard size. It was gorgeous in red, although the £450 price was not! Mabel is growing on me, it looked incredibly classy in black but still won't be splashing out as I know after one season I'll be bored with it.

Don't have a Mabel yet... but I'm thinking about it for my next bag too :graucho: I'm waiting for the metallic bronze colour in goat skind...medium size - the SA said it's not in for the the next 3 weeks. Hate waiting :cursing: :roflmfao: - I'm really excited to see that colour :graucho:

Oooh, a metallic bronze Mabel sounds gorgeous. Be sure to post pics if you end up getting it.


I tried on the regular & large Mabels today in John Lewis and just couldn't get on with them. Are they supposed to go over your shoulder? Usual case of the bags being over-stuffed, so it was tricky anyway, but even squashing the stuffing down, the straps just wouldn't stay up. Very disappointing.

The Smithfield was much more comfortable to carry but they only had the red. I've been lusting after the indigo :drool:

I'm not sure if it should go on the shoulder...sorry!

Ditab - You've got to haul all that stuffing out when you try on. The SAs in John Lewis in Bristol are used to me now. I end up making a huge mess of their displays - dust bags and stuffing all over the place! I agree with you though, I don't think Mabel is naturally a shoulder bag. It's really only a hand held which is rather restricting, especially given the price!

They have it at the Bloomingdales store in San Francisco in different colors and sizes. They had a Mulberry party last week and the reps from Mulberry were there. The bag is BEAUTIFUL in person
