OK - so OT Threads are the subject of 'culling'. There has been discussion - and there is ONE OT Chat Thread in each Forum. Some of the Mods felt that it was good to have a Thread where girls can Introduce themselves - and also one where you can show off your Non-whatever Forum purchases - SO - here we go - This Thread is - as it says on the tin - is for YOU to come introduce yourself, and tell us what you do, where you live etc.

No huge long chats - just getting to know one another - so - lets see your posts.:yahoo::yahoo:

I'll start. I'm Alison[Fiona really]. I live in kent in a small village. I was a teacher for 12 years but exactly one year a go I developed a balance disorder which means I have given up work [ Since I can't go out much]. looking for something to occupy my time I started my own online Poetry magazine and much to my surprise have a first poetry chapbook being published next year. It's funny how the one thing I dreamed about doesn't really feel like much after all. I started with Bayswaters but since they are too heavy for a dizzy gal I'm strictly an e/w bays carrier. I love their simplicity and elegance and the descrete tree on the hardware.

Hello,

I'm Emma, from Hampshire but currently living in West Yorkshire. I'm a SAHM to DD who's 3 and DS who is 1. I love fashion and read every glossy magazine I can get my hands on without my husband noticing that I have bought another one.

I'm 29 years old but think I am still a teenager at heart as my fave tv programmes are Gossip Girl, The Hills, The City etc. I rarely tell people this as they expect me to be a bit more highbrow, but I can't help watching a bit of Trash TV. I try to read books that are rather more intellectual so my brain doesn't turn to mush.

I also love travelling, eating (anything but especially chocolate), running, dancing. I love watching films too my favourites are Lost in Translation, Little Miss Sunshine, Breakfast at Tiffanys, Motorcyle Diaries and ANCHORMAN. I Love Will Ferrell he is hilarious.
Love music too, like all types fave bands at the moment probably Kasabian.

I fell in love with Mulberry years ago. I like the classic styles and that they are not too super girly. They are understated and timeless. Unfortunately I am yet to get my grubby hands on one, though I turn 30 just after Christmas so am hoping I will have my first mulberry before the New Year.

Hello I am Vicky, I live in Decatur, Texas on a dairy farm. I am a nurse and part of the administrative team at an Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. I have no children, and 1 fur baby my 5 year old doxie Annie. I love knitting and collecting yarn. When I am not working, I am knitting. I fell in love with Mulberry about 6 months ago and purchased my first Bayswater last week and the rest is history. My wishlist keeps growing and my second bag should be coming home the end of this month.

Hi, I'm Rachael.
I live in East Grinstead in Sussex. I have a boring job in a Bank, but I work just 2 days a week and with a term time contract, so can't complain.
I have 2 boys 14 and 11 years, who get dragged around to help me choose my bags!
My hubby is Head of Financial Crime for a certain HS Bank.
We love our holidays and have at least 2 to 3 long haul each year, with lots of little ones in between.
I love Badmington, but unfortunately, have been playing less with certain injuries and hitting 40 this year!
Only discovered Mulberry 2 years ago and sold all my Radley Signature bags to fund my growing obsession!

I'm Juliette, I'm 37 (I've no idea how THAT happened, last time I checked I'm sure I was 24...) and I'm originally from Cardiff. I left Wales when I was 18 and still miss it so very much - it's a form of homesickness peculiar to us Welshies and we have a word for it, 'hireath', or longing for home. When I moved to London I was told it never leaves you and, almost twenty years on, that's proved to be true.
I lived in London for almost ten years, earning a living variously as a 'professional vampire' (as bonkers as it sounds), nightclub promoter, writer (short stories for teen magazines mainly) and retail manager for a chain of charity shops for the homeless. In 1997 dd was born (at Hammersmith hospital, where LMM apparently did her midwifery training... Spooky!) and life changed entirely - for the better, I may add.
I moved to the northeast a few years later - my then husband was from Sunderland - however that relationship ended and I later met my now husband, my soulmate. We got engaged after 5 days - at 19 he was 11 years younger than me and a lot of people were disapproving, but 7 years on here we are.
I'm planning on returning to work next year - after 13 years it's nervewracking but exciting too. I want to work in the charity sector again - it's so rewarding.
I love reading (fave book is Les Miserables), music (classical and stuff like Placebo, Bowie, Manic Street Preachers, AFI, that sort of thing), art deco, vintage fashion, my cats and lots more but I'll stop now for fear of over-rambling (like I haven't already!).
Looking forward to 'meeting' everyone else!

Hi I'm SJ and I live in Wiltshire.
I'm 46, married with two sons. I work in communications and recently landed a dream job after running my own company for the last six years.
Apart from Mulberry I love spending as much time as possible at our holiday home in the south of France, books, Mini cars, my home and being with my family and friends.
Most of my early career was spent in journalism, regional and national, and I am never to be found without a book. I could happily live without a TV but not a book!
My love of Mulberry started almost 20 years ago now, not long after we moved to the west country and I stumbled across Mulberry's shop in Bath which is long gone. That was it, I was smitten and the love has remained.

Great thread!

I'm Ingrid, 23 years old from Gothenburg, Sweden. I study Textile Management at the Swedish school of textiles and I get my bachelor degree in june. I also work part time in retail. I live in a lovely two-room apartment with my boyfriend, he is however going to Dublin to study for six months (so I'm hoping to spend lots of time shopping Mulberry in Dublin) and next fall we plan to move to London to get the Master degree.

I'm obsessed with fashion, bags and high heels in particular... I also like to travel and to sew. After lusting for Mulberry for years, I bought my very first in januari last year - Green Somerset tote, and that was the beginning of my Mulberry love story!

Thanks Lescoy, great thread!

I'm Katherine and I am 29. I was born in the USA but grew up in a village very very near where Rachiem lives! I have worked in an office since I was 18 but left last year to have my DS who has just turned 1 . I met DH when I was 19 and instantly knew he was the one, but as he is a little older than me (;)) we had to wait a while before we got married (family approval etc).

I discovered Mulberry in 2006 when I got my Elgin and have been unable to use a high street bag since. I am not at all fashionable and due to various reasons cannot leave the house as much as I would like but I try to get as much use out of my bags as possible!

I am really pleased I found tPF as it is a great place to escape and the people I have met in real life from here have been so lovely.

Thanks for allowing this thread Lescoy - I was reading the other one this morning, only to discover it had been closed at the end....

I'm Cheryl - definitely no Lady (name was conjured up as a mickey take by my so called friends!). Turning the dreaded 40 at the end of the year, though not really bothered if it means another Mulberry as a pressie!

Worked in Banking since A levels - moved around a little & eventually found a job I enjoy in Invoice Finance just over a year ago. Not that interesting, but some nice clients & it pays the bills!

Married for 17? years - no kids (just not for me). Love any animals really but espec dogs - used to have a lovely gentle collie but alas no more

Hobbies (other than Mulberries) revolve around vintage cars (DH's hobby really, but I tag along - currently got 4 of the bloody things) and socialising.

Have taken up knitting again lately, to keep my hands busy from either picking up a glass of red, or clicking one of Mulberry Mad's 'Buy It Now's!

I'm Gail. I'm 49 years old and live in the Southside of Glasgow. I have lived here all my life other than the 4 years I spent at Aberdeen University. I have worked for Scotrail since I graduated, and at the moment I work in the Performance area. I used to love it but have recently been thinking of a change. My husband and I have two sons aged 27 & 24 now flown the nest. We recently sold the family home and are moving to a flat, still in the Southside, in the New Year.

I love reading swimming and studying Gaelic. We have a GSD, Becky ,who is in my avatar guarding my precious Croc Bays. None of them more precious than she is herself! OH and I holiday mainly on Orkney or over in Ireland, but we have started to go to places in England that we have always fancied. I have one holiday a year with the girls. Usually abroad. It's been NYC past few years but it's time for a change.

I came to Mulberry after a Chloe addiction that went sour after, IMO, poor customer service. I like the forum because as well as a communal obsession with handbags I "meet" women of all ages from many different backgrounds who are unfailingly mannerly interesting funny and supportive.

However at times I think loitering here is as dangerous as a gambler going to a night out in a casino!

I love reality TV like X Factor, SCD, I'm a Celeb and America's Next Top Model. I just love blethering about them with pals. I listen to a lot of radio, mainly BBC Reidio Nan Gaidheal.

All in all this is a nice stage of life, when the children are independant, and you get your "freedom" back but with your head screwed on a bit better than it was 30 years ago !!!

Great thread lescoy!
I'm Polly - big year for me as I turned 30 & also got engaged to my partner of 2yrs
Iam currently living with my folks in Bham while me & DF search for the dream home.
I first fell in love with mulberry in 2002 while admiring a colleagues bag & knew I had to get me one of those (if only it had just been one) he he

I love finding out more about the gals we chat with daily.

Im Jools, I turned 40 this year, which I was really worried about, but its been fine! I found the PF years ago when I had a bad Chloe Habit, and have been abit of a designer bag flirt really! It started big time with the Chloe Paddington and Bays, I whipped through Balenciaga (which I still love for the leather), tore through Fendi and the fab Spy bags, fell in love with MiuMiu for the coffers, and really found Mulberry in 2007 when they bought out the amazing Purple Bayswater . I love it in here also because there are so many UK and European gals as well as our fabby stateside friends, so I find lots of gals are on at the same time I am. So now, I am nestled nicely between Mulberry and Chanel, which is a pretty nice place to be ;).

Mind you, the way the price increases are going, I feel Chanel will just be off of the radar for so many people. With Mulberry, they just get better and better with use, and the leather is special. Its lovely to be out and see other gals rocking theirs so well.

Apart from my bag obsession (the shoe one is even worse and matched only by Starbucks!), my girls and hubby are my world. Gosh I cannot believe how lucky I am to have them.

My littlest girl is in her final year of Juniors and will be going to "big" school next year, so I am beginning to think about what I want to do with my time when she is gone from 7.30 in the morning til 5, so I will have a lot more hours in the day. I know I want it to involve fashion as I just really do live and breathe it and can bore the pants of anybody who will listen for hours about it. Its an exciting time for me but I have absolutely loved staying at home which really surprised me (its been 14 years now) as I was really into my work before I had them, but I find them so inspiring and they make me laugh so much I could burst.

Sorry, I will shut up now! I like to talk too heeheeeee!

hi im tracey im 32. live in manchester at the moment but we move around with dh's job. we have a dd who is almost 2 1/2. and i am a full time mummy, b4 dd i was a dental nurse and teacher. i first noticed mulberry about 5 years ago when a friend had a lovely bag.. and i wanted one too.

Hello, I’m Ryoko (one letter-wise better than Yoko Ono!) and just turned to 47 :faint:

I’m from Japan, met DH whilst he was working in the same office, he confiscated me to UK 20years ago. Now DD is officially teenager (13) & happily boarding though only 20min drive away - I have nice ‘me’ time at hand but had always been full time working mum with string of nannies.

I was LV mad in Japan but discovered Mulberry just after coming to UK, when thrown out of Harrods for security alert (IRA days) and walked into Mulberry store by chance! Whilst working in the City for 14years in banking sector, one Mulberry bombed to pieces left in CU building, but I escaped. :wtf:

I didn’t bond with Roxy fever time and it put me off Mulberry for a while, but since I found tPF last year I re-discovered Bays and other Mulberries. I’m an accountant, working as Finance manager in west London area, living in Bucks. Other hobbies are Piano, Opera and cooking. :wlae:
