Most popular Hermès bag for Parisian women?

Interesting. I am American and although I do not own any Hermes (although I have an extensive handbag collection) I do not care for twillies or bag charms. A beautiful bag can stand on its own.
Same. I just want the bag to shine in its simplicity.

That being said when I’m having a bad (face/hair/body/mood) day, wearing a Hermès scarf is my ultimate pick me up.

A few years ago I was at a beach restaurant in St. Barth and a woman walked in with a well worn etoupe B35 being used as the tote that it is. She walked up to the group at the table next to me, poured herself a drink and dropped the bag on the sandy floor next to her. It stuck with me as she was so effortlessly chic as was the bag!

For me personally, I can't get behind carrying Hermès (or any luxury handbag) to the beach or the pool... I have a pretty straw tote for that!

Me too! I don’t carry any leather bag to the beach. Leather is not the right material for the pool - basket bags look cool and light. Müûn makes lovely baskets but plenty of unbranded ones too in french markets. Come to think of it - I see A LOT of baskets bags in Paris.

On her piece on the Bolide on her blog, Kathy Wang had this to say:

"I just realized on my trip that the Bolide is everywhere in Tokyo! Very popular for an every day bag that still looks professional. The Bolide is also the Hermès bag I usually see the most on locals in Paris."

While it is elegant and can be very ladylike, it's also incredibly functional... I could definitely see chic Parisians (adoptive or native ) like Charlotte Rampling or Isabelle Huppert dashing about the city with one in tow.

I get it, but I live at the beach and have ZERO choice if I want to carry my Hermes. If I am required to sit on the sand because I am entertaining loved ones, I will carry a Lindy, this time in Bali or the Hermes beach bag.
