Just curious... When you've been in Hermès' native Paris, which of their bags do you find Parisian women most often sporting?

By far the most common I see Parisians sporting is a Kelly 32 or 28 vintage and newer, which almost never has a twilly or bag charm. Then I would have to say Evelynes are quite common in all sizes. Afterwards, I would say Constances are sported quite often, and I have seen quite a bit of exotics. Recently, I have been seeing quite a few Lindys that are not the mini size and also a few Della Cavallerias. The common thread between all of these is that they can be worn with a strap, which is the best for walking and public transport.

I live in Paris most of the year. I mainly see the Evelyne, Kellys 28 and up, and Birkins 30 and 35. For some reason Birkins seem to be more popular on the Right Bank and a rarer sight on the Left.
Also pretty normal to see more under radar bags like Della Cavalleria, Halzan, Saut Hermes, etc. ETA: Also the Bolide 31 and 35.

While spending time in Paris over the years, the Kelly 32 ranks as being the most frequently
seen bag especially in the 70's, 80's & 90's
I remember late 70's, I saw a very chic woman coming out of Carita carrying a
35 Kelly Etruscan alligator bag. It literally took my breath away as the patina of the bag was
very apparent & glorious looking with no twilly or bag charm. The bag stood out & spoke for itself

I feel like I saw so many Kelly bags and Constance bags when we were in Paris last year. Always cross body! Almost, ALMOST made me want to go to Hermes. But I was good and we didn’t go. Parisian women are so effortlessly chic. It was tres magnifique to see.

But some days I have regrets. I think I may be in the market for a Constance eventually. Sigh. (I have a Birkin I never ever carry)

Would love to see wildlife photos from those of you who have the opportunity to do so (hint @Perja) Being a fairly regular visitor I’d say that Parisiennes use their bags with enjoyment and with no fear about signs of wear. I almost never see twillies or protection - even in the rain. Like London - Paris has transient population- lots of Americans, Brits and other Europeans so it’s not homogeneous. The general vibe though is to carry them pretty casually and sometimes fairly battered.

For many, the style of the Parisiennes has been inspiration to many of us.

My husband commented on this. I loved that Parisian women wore all their luxury items and didn’t seem to care. It was amazing to watch. It was our first trip to Paris and I am firmly in love with the city and cannot wait to go back.

I firmly believe beautiful things are meant to be worn and loved. I wear my fancy jewelery whenever and wherever I like because…why not? I feel the same way about clothing and designer bags, and I felt like we really saw that in Paris. And in England I felt like battered and well worn was a badge of honor.

I live in SoCal, so you see more designer stuff here than other places. But it’s not the same as Paris and the effortless style you see on the streets.

How fabulous that this memory is still so strong. And if that bag could talk.....!

What about the Bolide, with its utilitarian efficiency and discreet beauty? Do you see these often on the arm of Parisian women?
The Bolide is still under the radar.
The shape & size is very classic & very utilitarian & discreet as you point out.
Doesn't shout in the way that the Birkin & Chanel classic flaps do, JMO
