^^^ Too funny! I used to hear about models using it to firm up under and around their eyes. I guess if it shrinks hemorroids, it would shrink your face too! But I've never tried it. And I think I've heard it smells terrible too! I'd rather have crows' feet than a stinky face!

Chunky trunks in the Army use it on their 'problem areas' the night before we get height/weight done....because if you weigh too much they tape you in certain areas and determine your body fat percentage...you basically put it on your butt, stomach, thighs and etc. and wrap those parts in saran wrap and sleep on it....take a shower the next morning....and you will be smaller in those areas temporarily. It does help!

LOL! heya i got a pm asking me to come back and explain... lol

monistat chafing gel is mostly silicone, specifically dimethicone ... as im sure you've all heard by now

dimethicone forms a barrier on your skin which will not be penetrated by humidity , thus preventing moisture from reaching your skin

now this would be fine if you had previously cleansed your face, then applied a humectant , then a lubricant moisturizer, THEN silicone .... since some moisture would then be 'trapped' and available for your skin for a short time

however, most people don't use both a humectant and lubricant, but rather one or the other, and neither will be effective at its job with silicone on top

humectants are supposed to draw moisture into the skin, which it cant do with silicone barrier

lubricant moisturizer maintains what moisture is already available in the skin

so you can see this one way in which silicone isnt good for your everyday skin regime

another problem is that dimethicone is particularly difficult to remove, it require a harsher cleanser , which most people again dont use... thus leaving a building residue of 'cones' on your skin (same happens to hair btw)
and if they DID use it, it would dry out the skin anyways

so ok, silicone isnt great to use on skin everyday, BUT it is a wonderful base for filling and smoothing skins texture before makeup application for some photo shoots or special occasions

of course if you have natural high lubricant skin (oily), silicone would be OK to use more regularly , in fact it may help reduce oil production
also , some people with more severe uneveness in texture may also find the silicone to be very useful in filling in pocks and lines , and have 'plumper' looking skin daily

i hope that explains :)

Gotcha. I just assumed most primers have silicone in them. Oh well, I love my Monistat! Whats better than a primer that you can use other places too?:p

BTW: Killer, thank you for explaining!!

lol, yw :p

monistat is pretty similar to the smasbox, except with monistat you get to use the entire product because its in a TUBE as opposed to smashbox which loves putting stuff in those silly pumps that sometimes get clogged and stop pumping half way through :shrugs:
