Monistat chafing gel as a face primer?

Did anyone else have a problem with the gel being runny when you first opened the tube? I had to squeeze a fair amount out because it started out the consistency of baby oil...
The chafing gel felt nice and satiny on my skin, and my makeup went on very smoothly. My knee-jerk reaction is that I don't like it better than the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base I've been using, but the price difference is VERY significant, so I might be converted. I don't know how well my makeup held out by the end of today though. I'll have to review this better another day, because it was over 110 and we were in and out of the pool this afternoon. But so far so good!

Hmm nope mine wasn't runny at all. It was exactly the opposite. The consistency is thicker than smashbox and a bit gooier.
illinirdhd, I think it might just be because the package was sitting like that for a while. You know how sometimes there might be a layer of that watery stuff on top of the ketchup in the bottle? sorry, a really gross comparison, but I think your gel should be fine. Just shake it up and down next time and see if you still get that runny stuff.
It does nothing for oil itself, though because of that flawless finish thing, on me it reduces the visible effect of oil, but most importantly it does not exacerbate oiliness itself, which for me is always a big worry.
That's what I was thinking too. I'll try that when I put on my makeup today. I know, I know, it's almost 11, but we slept late...
i've been using this as a primer on and off for the past week or two and it hasn't really been helping with my oilies 
ush: plus it's been causing me very minor irritation. i'm convinced it's my face though and not the product so i'm going to try it again in a few days

Im sorry its not working excellent for everyone, but hey, if one product worked for everyone...there would only be one product on the market!
