The picture is a ring by de Beers. It's a pear-shaped diamond that's so clear, you can see the intense pink diamond set underneath it. It's called Kiss of a Rose:

My dream ring has always been a 90 point Tiffany round brilliant solitaire. This Valentine's day, my husband of 20 years surprised me with a 1.45 ct of this ring!! My jaw dropped and I was floored when I opened the ring box! It's just lovely and I love my husband for making not just my dream, but my wildest unimaginable fantasy come true.

OMG that is so sweet! Congratulations!

OK Lady, we need photos!! Great story!!

I'm surprised that people here only like diamonds for engagement rings. I have nothing against them -- I prefer the simple modern designs -- but blood diamonds don't appeal to me at all. And that is what is mostly sold.

I chose a triangle-cut blue sapphire with a smaller triangle in pave diamonds in a white gold setting for my engagement ring and I love it. It fit perfectly the first time I tried it on, and I knew it was the one. It is very modern and clean looking. I have an antique gold wedding band and a two-tone gold and yellow sapphire ring that I stack it with. Different, but it works for me. I wear my wedding band and ring on my right hand, and my engagement ring on my left in the European style.

Sorry Pacific, but I don't think "Blood Diamonds" are what is "mostly sold" at all. Not these days. Sure they are still out there and reaching perhaps unknown consumers, but blood diamonds currently represent only a very small percentage of the diamond market, and it is shrinking. That said, there is no acceptable level of blood diamonds.

Back on topic, I've attached two pictures of my dream ring...

Nice huh?:graucho:

Not that you asked, but every piece of jewelry that I own (including my e-ring which I won't be getting until December because of the clauses attached to the stones) are remade old pieces.

You have very similar taste to me.... I adore this ring!

This is one I've been admiring recently
