She looked beautiful! I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she might just have been really nervous. If she grew up more tomboy-ish and down to earth, getting all dolled with tons of people watching would make anyone nervous!

Prince of a tax haven, basically. I think one of the Daily Mail articles on the wedding mentioned that there are 8,000 citizens.
I've been to Monte Carlo. You can just feel the money oozing all over the place and everything was spotless. Riding on the city bus someone spilled their coffee, and the bus driver stopped and radioed for a janitor to come clean it up immediately. All the stores I went into had a photo of Albert prominently displayed. It's an interesting place.

She does look so sad, she looked like she was trying her hardest to keep her tears from spilling out. I feel so sad for her.
I agree, some people are weak natured, and if the right temptation comes along, they can fold. It is still their personal decision to go the right or wrong way.
If I had to sign my life away to a contract marriage, I would go the route she chose... jet-setting and such as opposed to royal duties. Kate's life may feel more fulfilling because she has those duties though, how ironic.

The reluctant bride-to-be of Monacos Prince Albert had her passport taken away to prevent her fleeing todays £50million royal wedding, it was claimed yesterday.
Charlene Wittstock was said to have had the document confiscated by police at Nice airport as she apparently attempted to fly to her native South Africa on a one-way ticket.
The 33-year-old former Olympic swimmer is reported to have been trying to leave Monaco after hearing a rumour that her groom had fathered a third illegitimate child.

Lawyers for Prince Albert, 53, have said categorically that the rumour is false.
But the extraordinary claims mean that when Miss Wittstock walks down the aisle, at 4pm UK time, she will do so under a cloud of suspicion.
A senior Monaco detective, who was involved in the later stages of the incident at Nice airport, confirmed: Charlene had her passport confiscated so that the Princes entourage could persuade her to stay.
And respected French newspaper Le Figaro reported: This speculation has been given credibility by the indiscretions of the Monaco police.

Prince Alberts first illegitimate child is Jazmin, 19, whose mother is Tamara Rotolo, a U.S. estate agent. His second, Alexandre, seven, was born to former air hostess Nicole Coste, from Togo.
He issued fierce denials before DNA tests proved he was the father in both cases.

Like the Countess LuAnne. When I saw pics of the Civil Ceremony, I swore she was drugged. I've never seen anyone look so depressed at their own wedding. Albert is scum for denying his children. I absolutely believe that he held her passport and forced her. I know it's awful, but I truly hope they have no heirs.
He hasn't denied the first two -- he pays the mother very well in child support. They are his children, he acknowledges them, they just can't be heirs to the throne since they were born out of wedlock.
It's the last one, the third one that just came up...
He only acknowledged them publicly AFTER a tabloid was going to run a story on him. You never see them with him. I wonder if they've met (the siblings) abd if they've met their other family members.
