Im using safari. My Mac was purchased maybe 3 years ago?It should work on Safari. What browser are you using? How old is the machine?
That should be the new M-series then already. It should work. The new site uses some heavy web 3D, but it should work on a fairly new Mac. The rest of the site works just fine?Im using safari. My Mac was purchased maybe 3 years ago?
The rest of the site is fine. I needed to install an update so hopefully that works! That should be the new M-series then already. It should work. The new site uses some heavy web 3D, but it should work on a fairly new Mac. The rest of the site works just fine?
Bull, you are a font of knowledge, thank you!WOW, this is polarizing.
- the designer is MUCH nicer (although VERY slow)
- the new wider colour palette is very nice (although some old colours are missing)
- the new stripe options are very cool (but the V-cut one feels so un-Vuitton-y for some reason, and the slanted Pont Neuf is missing)
- the stickers look much much nicer and more sophisticated than the My World Tour (but also the range is much more limited)
- the new font option is nice
- the best part: the price went down by a lot! the Mon Mono option used to be 360€ plus for bags, now it is just 200€. That's a huge difference! the SLGs seem to be the same price though.
The worst part is — as everyone seems to agree — the lack of interior colours. This screams optimizing the supply chain and saving as much money as possible (for them). Since most of the Mon Mono bags had no lining, but the actual canvas backing of the PVC was the lining, they had to produce, manage and keep 17 colours of canvas versions in stock, that doubled when they introduced the Eclipse versions. That's a lot of special material. To try to keep it simple and keep costs down, they were producing these canvas versions only for a very few locations (like Ducey in France), and only at those locations they were producing these special orders. That had upsides, since practically ALL Mon Mono items were made in France, and — this is my assumption — since they only made them in their best factories (longest running, closest to Paris, most experience with these base models), the Mon Mono quality was almost always excellent. Very very few people have been complaining about them here on the forum. And almost all complaints were about the screenprint not being durable enough, the craftsmanship was always top-notch.
Same for the SLGs, they needed to constatly manage almost 40 different lining leather colours. I totally see why that was a logistics nightmare.
Now they decided to let go of the interior colour, which means that they can simply just install screen printing machines in ANY of their factories that regularly produce Neverfulls, Keepalls, base SGLs, and from than on practically every single factory will also be a Mon Mono factory. No special canvas needed.
With all the special editions they churn out every month for the past few years, they probably gained a lot of experience with screen printing, refined it, and also most probably they already have all the necessary machines available in most of their factories. This makes life much more easier for them, I'd guess that is the reason behind the unusual price drop. But also don't be surprised when you'll receive your first Made in Italy, Spain, and Made in USA Mon Mono bags.

it finally worked after the update! It worked fine for me. Took a while to load, even on my pretty modern MacBook Air.
The current version of most bags all have a separate lining though? As in, the lining we see is not the back of canvas - so they could've easily done the interior colours and just sewn the interior colour of choice.WOW, this is polarizing.

I have an original speedy 30 mon monogram/my heritage that I bought from LV at the beginning of 2020 when the pandemic first hit. It's marine blue and gris with the gris interior. Since there aren't interior color selections and no black handles/trim, I guess I'm most likely out. I really wanted the marine blue/fuschia with fuschia interior. By chance, what is the cost of the speedy 25 and 30? Still not seeing it on the US website.
Well, most bags, yes. But the Mon Mono core collection was originally just the Neverfull, Speedy and Keepall, neither of those has a separate lining. Even though they introduced a few more items down the line, my guess is that most of the actual orders are still these 3. And even if the lining would be separate, it just complicated things tremendously on the logistics side. The current version of most bags all have a separate lining though? Anyway, with all the recent colourmania releases, it would be nice if they added that as an option too for the leather trim and we can create totally custom pieces. I think that would be worth the premium.
Thanks for sharing. Always good insight.Well, most bags, yes. But the Mon Mono core collection was originally just the Neverfull, Speedy and Keepall, neither of those has a separate lining. I just went through the current selection, with this approach they only have to manage 1, 2 or 3 (that's the most) pieces of canvas for a single product, each printed. The rest is all generic. If they let us choose leather colour, and lining (which meant at least 5-6 more separate colour-codes parts: zippers, pocket parts, ribbons around the edges, etc...), that is exponentially more logistics work on their side.
I guess they made an analysis and the numbers showed that even if we hardcore fans will be sad about loosing a few options, the general clientele will be perfectly fine with this as is.
I can imagine (and hope) that they will bring back colours someday, but based on their history with introducing major changes to this service, my guess is that we won't see them before 2030.
Oh! Is that why the speedy 20 isn't part of the collection? My view is that if it were more MTO/bespoke, it would be a direct competitor to Hermes MTO. Maybe they do have it and I'm unaware? I only know they do trunks bespoke.Well, most bags, yes. But the Mon Mono core collection was originally just the Neverfull, Speedy and Keepall, neither of those has a separate lining.
