Thats nice, but didnt you say something how "it takes away from the time". If your mom loves the bling Chopard makes beautiful watch's,also maybe jacob &co. Both watch companies have bling, also they have full watch faces

I dont think were goana return this one lol but maby for next time i doubt she also uses the watch to tell time.

Hmmm, I agree, it does kinda look like a Cartier with lots of aftermarket diamonds added.

WHICH is not a bad thing! Lots of wonderful jewelers do it. You can purchase them and have them added to a "factory standard" - our jeweler pegs me to do it every time he sees me! Aftermarket diamonds can even be added as pieces from the same factory brand.

For example, you could buy a Porsche, and add some aftermarket add-ons like lit door brand logos, from Porsche. Still a very expensive car, and not devalued whatsoever.

LoL Annnnnnnnnnd that's Angelfish's bizarre reference of a Car to a watch hehe ;)

Here is my Cartier, which does have aftermarket diamonds. Compare the shape, etc., to your mom's.

I put a few things together and i belive it a cartier.

I have to say unfortunately it's not. If you look at the crown on the one that you gave to your mum and the one that is Rondafaye's picture, they are not the same and if you go and look at the Cartier website particularly the Santos Demoiselle in gold bracelet, the crown is also hexagonal. Also my price list (and some Googling) says that a Santos Demoiselle is around $20,000+.

This is not going to sound good but I have to tell you what I think straight and you are allowed to kill me for it. I think you are paying too much a premium on a no-name watch. For $13,000, you can get a Patek Philippe, a Breguet watch!

So I am going to say this, if you really did pay $13,000 for it, you bought into a very bad deal. If I was in your dad's situation, unless your mum opposes it, I would get a refund immediately because there are no certificates for anything (not even sure of the diamonds' grade) nor evidence to prove authenticity - we still do not know what brand it is yet.

If you don't trust me, go to the watchnut forum: Timezone.com and ask them about it.

If it is really a Cartier and you paid 13k for it, you really should have paperwork for it...

13k sounds so expensive for a Santos with no paperwork... *edit*jsut saw Bee...Bee's post and realized that a Santos is above 20k.

there is some form of paperwork (my dad has it) but even if i wanted to return it my mom fell in love with it

But you said there's no cartier name on the back...cartier watches should have the name on the back, and these ebay pics show that too. You really should make sure your dad didn't get ripped off.
