Thank you! Yes, absolutely no question that she was doing home with me @ghoztz :D I am crazy about dark neutrals and mixed media bags: Toile, crinoline, felt and smooth leather, and my SAs know that. Here are action pics from Paris, then on a couch at home, with 28 quadrille which I accepted from FSH in 2022. I don’t know what to ask for, so what I do is I show SAs my own action pics and other inspiration pics, and then they curate selections for me to choose from. I almost feel as though I’ve waited many years for these bags to choose me lol

The couch, in 1991 fabric by Jean Castalbajac is what started me on my love of toile. I should also note that I’m on the chunky side of slim, and I am somewhat broad shouldered and framed for my height. In busier, mixed media bags, the 28/30 size is most flattering on me. Although an all leather 28/30 gets heavy, I can handle the weight of a fabric leather 28/30. Since I don’t carry much, in all leather bags, I do sometimes carry a size 25.

Also, I love leather piping :) First pic is the bag next to DH who is wearing a chain d’Ancre cashmere hoodie and H08

Gorgeous bags, couch, pics all!! I love your couch and that wonderful fabric! How nice to further and further hone your loves and collections over the years with help from your kind SAs. Just beautiful!

I’m totally with you on mixed materials, crinoline was one of my first H loves. I’m also a big fan of the graphic quality of a dark leather/light fabric mix, and both of your bags ring that bell for me (as does that fabulous couch  ).

I’d love to see H do a bit more of these material collaborations. As I assume they’re not as popular, it would be wonderful if mixed media options were available in the SO process.

Again, many congrats on these two super bags; I’m looking forward to what I know will be great styling pics! :hugs:

Happy to contribute to this thread! Just got this at FSH. It’s a Birkin 25 and called the côte à côte tuffetage, with bleu saphir velvet, caban Swift and Permabrass hardware. My SA said it was new for this season. It also comes in black velvet but we both thought the bleu saphir was more special. It is a gorgeous rich color. Oh and it came with a little lint brush lol.

I love your toile b and k, @880. You’ve got me thinking about toile now  And I saw the bleu saphir b25 @Bdbunny has when one was on display at Madison and the way they incorporated the velvet strips with the leather is well worth a close up look. It’s one of those bags you feel you have to stroke. My one contribution to this thread is my marble silk Constance. I love the variety of designs in marble silk and have several of the twillies too.

I’ve been looking at mixed media bags on resale sites for awhile. It was photos that I saw here of tpf that made me sit up and take notice. While I tell myself that I don’t “need” any more bags, I’ve never let logic rule my behavior for too long…..
It’s been several years since I shopped in a H store. I had a wonderful SA who was eager to find things for me, but she left Hermes. Such is life….

Thank you! I love your marble silk, and think it’s especially stunning IRL. Perhaps marquetry bags could also be considered mixed media ;) hugs

It must be really fun for the designers and artisans to develop these special pieces; they are stunning exemplars of craft. Maybe it’s because I’ve tried my hand and failed miserably at many of these (I hesitate to say in my case) ‘metiers’ that I have so much respect for what they do. And I know a few ‘makers’ and have seen what it takes to get to the finished work. Not easy.

I don’t know if any of our members have one, but I had a chance to see the Barenia and Bog Oak Kelly, and it’s quite amazing. I’d be breaking my commitment to only buying what I use, along with my wallet and my marriage, but that one would seriously tempt me, if only to be able to look at it every day. https://www.1stdibs.com/fashion/han...arenia-leather-limited-edition/id-v_12500482/
