Mitzy Mulberry Question

Hello,
This is my first post so hopefully someone will find it! I have a beautiful new-to-me Mitzy messenger and have currently used the brilliant idea of shortening the long strap to a shorter version, that I found on here. However, I’ve read that Mulberry suggest knotting the strap to make it shorter, does anyone do this and has it damaged your strap? Thank you

I never knotted mine . I shortened it using a method shown by the lovely KLP on here many years ago .

Can anyone advise what method this is exactly? I cannot find a post by KLP on this.
