not only Orthodox people wear their wedding rings on right hand ;) there are some more countries where people wear them on right hand... I don't know why...probably some culture thing...

I must say I absolutely love this thread, even though I don't write on it much. I adore Miroslava's style, she's young and lovely and oh so chic...

I know she's Russian and it's really, really cold up there, but it upsets me to see her wear real fur. I'd admire her even more if she didn't - let's spare the poor animals, everyone! :graucho:

Thanks for keeping the thread running - you're making my life more colorful ;)

I don't think it's really her fault that she wears fur. I don't know, maybe it's part of the culture. But, who says her fur jackets are real...

I'm sure it is cultural, especially because of the weather there. I never said the word "fault", though. Well, no one said her furs are real but I believe they are, as you said yourself, it's from her culture. But that doesn't change the fact that taking fur from animals is very cruel! I was just saying I would like her even more than I do now if she didn't wear real fur, that's all ;)

Well ok then... but that's a quick way to judge somebody but that's you...

I think if you'd experience Russian winter just for an instance, you'd also start wearing fur. Believe me, it's killing. :weird: It's no wonder that wearing fur coat is implemented in the Russian culture.

I did not condemn and do not endorse anyone. I just want to tell you my story. I live in the Urals. And when I graduated from high school (which was near my home) my mother was decided to buy me a mink coat! I was against it, simply because I was did not like the fur at all! I do not care a synthetic fur or natural, expensive or not ... does not matter! I just do not like fur coats. But my mom still bought me a mink coat. Autumn came, I started going to university (which was much farther from my house than the school). And when came the first frost I appreciated all the benefits (as it would be painful sound for you) the fur! Believe me. When outside the door minus 20-40 degrees Celsius or even more, you will be cold even in a fur coat! and go out in down jacket at a temperature like this - it is suicide! so this is probably a need than a whim. But! I do not understand those people who wear fur for the sake of luxury! Honestly ... for me it's savagery ... If you live in LA, why do you need the fur?... if you live in an area where no so frosts, then buying fur is just monstrous! buy synthetic fur!

love and take care of the animals!

xoxo
