Travel Mini Road Trip to PA

My DH and I are taking a mini road trip starting in Baltimore, then Amish country, Hershey and Gettysburg. We will end up in DC for a few days. Any advice on things to do, stay and eat would be greatly appreciated. We are planning on going to all the monuments and the Smithsonian in DC. Also, has anyone been to the Spy Museum as I thought it looked interesting.

I grew up in PA but haven't lived there in so long that I don't have a ton of ideas for there - but I did live outside DC for a few years. I've been to the Spy Museum and it was really interesting - you should definitely check it out. Some good restaurants in Dupont Circle area of DC and Georgetown is fun as well. There's a cool Tapas restaurant that has locations in DC and Bethesda (easily subway accessible) - Jaleo

I haven't stayed at the Kimpton hotels in DC but have heard wonderful things about them.

I love DC! There's soooo much to do.

And across the street from Dragonfly is ESL's club space too which is always fun! (ESL is the eighteenth street lounge http://www.eslmusic.com/ it's the club for the label and is housed in Teddy Roosevelt's old estate).

DH has been to the spy museum and said it was awesome. It's on my list but I haven't been.

I've been to most of the museums but after a few you just get tired out.

The holocaust museum will leave you with memories if you go. It's sad but really I recommend it.

Thanks - the Spy Museum is on the list and I would like to go to the Holocaust Mus as well. I have been to the one in Houston and it was very sad. Its hard to explain in words, though.

If you're feeling super hungry in Lancaster, the Amish smorgasbords are pretty good. My favorite is Millers. It costs like $20 or $25 and then you walk around to all the stations and get whatever you want. It's not quite like a buffet... It's like Thanksgiving at grandmas times a million. It's sooo much food, but it's tasty! There's outlets in Lancaster, too.

In Baltimore, I like the Rusty Scupper. It's a seafood place on the water, overlooks the bay, reasonably priced. Fabulous bisque!

IDK about restaurants in Hershey, but I've heard the factory tour is really neat. We didn't do that and I regret it. If you're staying overnight, Hotel Hershey is really nice and has a good spa.

The Holocaust Museum, Smithsonian and Monuments are all more than worth while.
