Hi All - Apologies if this question has already been answered here before, but does anyone use one of those chain strap adjusters with the classic mini rectangle? The Saks SA mentioned they offer something for clients who are concerned about the longer strap length (I'm on the short side. lol.), but I wasn't able to see what it looked like or how it worked. Thanks!

A friend of mine has this for her WOC. It’s a very small clasp that doesn’t seem to scratch the leather of the bag either. It seems to be given by the Chanel boutique for free, if you inquire.

Hi! I have one and it works really well for my mini when I want to wear as a shoulder bag without having to wrap the chain around and potentially damage my bag. Your SA can give you one for free if you ask.

Apologies if I missed this in an earlier post, but can SAs waitlist or hold a mini classic flap for you? I’ve talked to one and she says it’s Chanel policy they can’t hold classic minis  I really really want one so if someone has an SA who can help out I’d be eternally grateful
They want you to come in that day or the next day I am sure the manager will approve it. You must come in and pay in person.

Hi there! Thanks so much for sharing. :) Is it difficult to put stuff in and out of the bag with the chain adjuster? Also, sorry for the trouble, but would there be any way you could possibly take a pic of how the adjuster looks inside the bag when it's used? Txs!

Hi! I bought my strap shortener from Amazon without realizing that it was offered through SAs if asked. They are inexpensive but doesn't feel flimsy and I use it on my minis and WOC. Here's a photo of the ones I bought. Not sure if the ones handed out by SAs look like this but these work great. Hope this helps.

I got my first chanel bag ever for my birthday (and college graduation) from my bf’s wonderful mom <3 i think its from 2016, lambskin. I didn’t think i’d own a chanel until I was like 30, so this was an amazing surprise! She got it off TRR and it has some wear (tbh i couldnt handle having a brand new lambskin bag, it would make me so anxious) but im wondering if anyone knows if i could potentially clean some of the dark spots on the leather wrapped with the chain? i attached a photo (as well as pics of the bag!!!)

Hi! I demonstrated how the adjuster is used on my mini top handle since I don’t have a regular classic mini. It doesn’t really help with my mini top handle as the chain is outside the bag, but at least it can give you some idea of how to use the chain shortener on your mini classic.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your pic with me! Is this the same style of adjuster that Chanel gives you if you ask for one? Also, looking at the mechanism more closely, it looks like once you set it at a certain length and use it inside the bag, it's not adjustable so you'd have to use that length for the day unless you're ok with fiddling with it throughout the day? Also, once you set the adjuster in the bag, I wonder if I could still crossbody it or could only use it as a shoulder bag? Thanks!

Yes this is the one my Chanel SA gave me at the boutique. You’re right once you set a certain length, it’s fixed until you change the adjuster to a different link on the chain. The chain on the mini is long enough to wear as a crossbody, so the adjuster can shorten the chain to the length of a shoulder bag if you like, or a shorter crossbody if you find the regular chain too long for you. I hope this helps! I recommend using the adjuster to shorten the chain instead of double wrapping the chain around the flap as this method can damage the leather on your bag.

I'm looking to get my first Chanel and love the idea of getting a vintage one (especially because of the 24k GHW!). But that means getting a pre-loved one. What are your thoughts on this one? I'm thinking the price is okay, but I'm not sure about the interior marks, etc. Please help!

I personally don’t care too much about the internal scratches or dent/mark but the external wears. Those internal ones will only increase as time goes by, and the external wears might become more noticeable once it’s started. For this specific bag, I wonder how severe the peeling might be… (inside the bag).

Good thing is this is Fashionphile and you can return it if you decide not to keep it after seeing the actual bag and its condition. It might be really gorgeous in person that you don’t care about any mark at all :P

Thank you so much for replying! I didn't notice that before, but I'm glad it can be sent back if it isn't as great in person. Would you mind giving me your thoughts about the price? It's my first Chanel purchase, so I feel a bit nervous and I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is normal? Thank you so much!

I personally think the price is a little steep for this bag's current condition. I bought my square mini last year from Fashionphile also and it was in caviar for less than 4K. The external marks/dents/scratches do bother me a little since they will definitely get worse overtime especially with lambskin but this is more of a subjective view since different people have different toleration/petpeeves about things. If your main thing is 24K then I would say go for it and see it in person then decide whether you want to keep or return with FP's return policy. Sometimes the pictures look worse than how the bag appears in person. If price is ok to you, then that's fine also but if you are willing to pay a few more hundreds, you probably can get a brand new mini from the boutique. No 24K though. Hope this helps and good luck with your first Chanel, such an exciting experience! Let us know what you decide :)
